There have been a couple of infractions issued this morning.

TSUN fans are allowed a little more leeway to defend their program in this thread, since it's about TSUN, but some went too far lately.

I'm in the process of removing some of the nonsense, since it only incites problems.

God help BP when I'm trying to be the calming voice of reason. :slappy:

Tryouts attract football hopefuls
Students hope to join team's spring practice

They all took a knee at the end of their grueling workout, huddled around Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez - 65 sweating, dead-tired athletes in maize-and-blue jerseys.

Every one of them was a prospective walk-on, and yesterday's scene at Oosterbaan Fieldhouse again made it clear the Wolverines have entered a new coaching era. The Michigan football open tryout began a tradition Rodriguez plans to continue every semester.

After stretches, the athletes ran agility drills where they had to shuffle, backpedal, sprint and run figure eights, switching between stations every five minutes. On the other side of the fieldhouse, kickers practiced field goals.

The offense and defense combined for position drills and one-on-ones. After the bulk of the practice, the athletes ran the 40-yard dash three times - most athletes were in the 5-second range, but a few 4.9's and a 4.7 were recorded. The tryout ended with gassers, sprints across the width of the football field.

scUM holding open tryouts every semester. :slappy:

And DickRod's first move is a hail mary down the middle.

Pretty much. Michael Williams could also some PT at nickel/safety. I think he could actually start at FS and move Brown to SS. The RB will be RB by committee IMO, with Minor/Grady the power backs and Carlos Brown as the speed back. McGuffie should also see some touches. Schilling moves to a more natural position at RG.

IMO, their will be no committee Grady will start based on what I have heard.

That would be insanely retarded as Brown is such a perfect fit for RR's offense, and Grady isn't very good.

Hadn't grady bulked up a good bit? I seem to remember talk last year of him moving to FB. Not exactly what I'd expect from a DickRod offense. Not to mention the fumbles. I'd think Brown and Minor would thrive. Not to mention the great white hope McGuffie.

Brown's head hasn't been on straight very often during his career at UM though...

Maybe, but he was also buried on the depth chart, asked to move to CB, then Michigan realized "Holy shit, this kid can fly, let's put him back at RB" and he saved our asses against Illinois. I like his wheels a lot, and in RR's wide open offense, he could be straight up filthy.

Then, you really dont know how hard Grady has worked this offseason. Going into last year he was the clear number 2 back and was going to have a big role. I expect to see other backs play like McGuffie, Brown, Minor etc but Grady is going to be the man. Brown works hard when he wants to, just because he has speed doesnt mean anything. Minor and Grady work harder than him and want it more.

How do you know this? You sit in on every practice/workout? Maybe if Grady had any semblance of vision, I'd like him. He's a good short yardage back, but when you only average 4.0 ypc and 3.4 ypc, I'm a little wary of giving him touches ahead of guys who averaged 5.7/4.3 and 2.6 (only 16 carries)/5.1 ypc, especially since the scheme requires more of a finesse/speed game.

Call me when Sparty beats us more than once every 2,781 on a bullshit call, mmk? Until then there's no purpose discussing that piece of flaming shit school.

So, if you lose just once in 6 years to a particular team, then you have the right to call them a "piece of flaming shit school"??? Okay then, as a Buckeye fan, I'd have to say Michigan qualifies as a piece of flaming shit school.

Man, it must suck to be a Wolverine right about now...
No offense to you personally Sniper, but the 90's hurt, and now it's payback.

Cooper who?

It's called having insiders! Grady is a much better fit for this O than the last O.

Wait, so a big, slow power back is a better fit in a scheme that requires speed and agility compared to a power running game?
