Maybe not so much in size? Gholston and Jenkins may go if they have great seasons, but Boone and Laurinaitis aren't NFL ready. Say we lose two to early declarations and maybe two more to transfers. That would make it 13+2+2=17. A decent sized class but not big though.
Wade was referring to the bigs next year being huge on size and talent, not the overall class.

I have a question. Those SEC teams that sign these huge classes, knowing that some guys won't make grades, some guys will drop or transfer, etc. Won't this catch up with them eventually? Will this not factor into the grad rates down the road and possibly lead to losing scholarships with the new rules?
If they never make it onto campus - no.
But if they step foot on campus under scholarship then don't make the grade, yes. Transfers may be a different story, GSR vs APR.

In any event the cap on penalties would be 10% of squad size, or 9 scholarships, for a truly bad insitution.

Karma will catch up to the SEC eventually too. It's only a matter of time.

Can someone explain to me why we have so few scholarships available this year and next? I noticed that we had the fewest signees (15) of any team in the Big Ten yesterday, and I also read somewhere that Tressel said that only signing 15 will allow us to sign 13 next year. That seems like an incredibly low two-year total relative to other schools.

I hope the coaches can talk Gholston and Jenkins to stick around and play
at USC the year after.
We're gonna need them!
And all those tall DBs we're gettin!:yow1:

That was my first thought when I heard Clifford was gonna be tried at CB.

OSU shows rankings for recruits overrated

Tressel thrives developing midpack players

By Terry Pluto

Here's what we know about Ohio State University's football recruiting class: It's ranked No. 15 by SI/Rivals.com and No. 16 by Scout.com. Both respected scouting services have Florida with the nation's top recruiting class, and both have OSU second in the Big Ten behind a school up North -- and we're not talking about Ferris State.
Here's what all that means: nothing.
Remember that famed 2002 Buckeye recruiting class, ranked No. 1 in the nation by several services?
According to Scout.com, the highest rated player was linebacker Mike D'Andrea, No. 8 in the country. He rarely played for the Buckeyes because of major injuries.

Cont'd...
