maybe a little off topic here

but I noticed the big 10 network has like 3/4 games at the same time

are they going to have alternate stations on DirecTV dedicated to these games?

Big Ten has been big bust
Jason Lloyd, Morning Journal Writer

CONSIDER yourself fortunate that the Buckeyes' first two games have been difficult to find. Aside from the 105,000 in the Horseshoe and select friends and neighbors who have the Big Ten Network, few have witnessed just how unimpressive they have looked.

Through two weeks, Ohio State's No. 10 ranking is based on tradition, not merit. The only team to look worse, considering the competition, is Michigan, so at least they have that going for them. At least they're not Lloyd Carr.

I'll finally get to watch Iowa play this weekend... I've been wanting to watch them and see how they look.

Iowa typically looks good in the pre-season, except for their rivalry game, before getting exposed during conference play. Someone else will have to expose them this year, as they are blessed with having us removed from their schedule.

As for their rival, the Sucklones have come out of the gate looking so bad that even the Hawkeyes can't screw it up. At least I don't think so. Chizik is proving to be the cliche, the great coordinator that doesn't have all the tools to do the whole job. It's probably too early to make that determination. But it's ISU, so I don't really care.

Moral high road is costing Big Ten on field

September 17, 2007

By Brian Hedger Post-Tribune staff writer
Seven months ago, Jim Delany got angry.
Incensed about a newspaper column, the Big Ten's commissioner dismounted his glimmering, white steed just long enough to write an open letter to Big Ten fans. Here is how it started, in part: "In response to these commentaries, it seems premature for us to lower our admission standards or give up on the tremendous talent pool in the Midwest."

Obviously. And it looks like that pride is preceding a big fall. Pick your adjective to describe the current Big Ten. Slow. Weak. Feeble. Stinks.
They all fit, save for Ohio State.

Who Is Playing Big Ten Defense?

Where are the Big Ten defenses? (the key to winning the Big Ten)

Obviously, we are playing great defense!

Penn State is playing very good defense over all. But, what's up with giving up points to Buffalo? That's not a very good team.

And Wisconsin has a dynamic offense, but that defense has no pass rush!
And The Citadel gave them absolute fits!
Wisconsin's defense is currently ranked 42nd!

The competition gets ramped up by a power of 10 once the Big 10 starts.

I don't put much stock in team's performance's against boring non-conference teams.
