I'm tired of all of this QB controversy thing. Why can't we just let the players and the coaches decide who will be the QB.It doesnt really matter who the Qb is to me as long as we win game, thats why they will put the right Qb in.It will be the one that will win us game.So lets stop all of this arguing and bickering and just root for the buckeyes that we all love.
Hmm... maybe cuz its pre-spring and there's very little to dsicuss? Come on, what else is there to discuss besides beating on the carcass of the Ginn to corner topic?

alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright alright ALRIGHT.

Zwick put up good numbers against Marshall. I stand by my opinion that he threw some REALLY ugly passes that appeared to be intended for the DBs.

... because one misstep by a player can negate all of that. nc's CAN be taken away if one of your kids who played screwed up. we came real close to that with MoC...

Uh, the NCAA doesn't award national titles in I-A football, so they couldn't do shit to our 2002 national title. They award titles in all other sports and in all other football divisions, but not I-A football.

so if a player was declaired ineligable to play in an nc game by the ncaa yet played... that team would still be the nc? my understanding is that in such a scenario that team would be stripped of the nc. i could be wrong though.

im pretty sure there are a couple of eligibility rules in which if a player does play in games even if it is not through malicious intent, those games can be forfeit. say a player isn't academically eligible but plays anyway. i thought the ncaa could force the team to forfeit the game. i brought up MoC and 02 because there were grumblings for a brief period of time that he might not have been eligible in a few of the games he played in. therefor our nc "might" not have been legit. thankfully none of it was accurate.

if i haven't been making a whole lot of sense lately its because ive been working ~ 90hrs per week for the last month and a half. ive all but banned myself from posting. i just can't help myself :p.

If a player is declared ineligible but plas he school would probably face severe sanctions..so that argument doesn't hold water..if that's possible we can do away with NCAA and all other regulations..can u cite an instance where a school played a player that was suspended by the NCAA?

The NCAA could make us forfeit our games but the NC is awarded by the BCS. The NCAA ruling would have no effect on our NC unless the BCS decided to revoke it. Come to think of it I have never heard of games being forfeited. Just suspensions and penalties

I would rather have a QB that will sit back and read the defense and shred it...

Smith had MAJOR happy feet even when he had time.

Ummmmm, yeah, I think we would all like to have a QB shred defenses. You're not really going out on a limb.

As far as happy feet go, do you remember 1999 through 2001? Enough said.

Not sure the guy who made that comment meant it, but the general complaint about happy feet is absurd. Maybe Smith is a little too apt to take off and run, but the guy got a lot better at that as the season wore on. Plus Smith showed improvement in getting the ball to multiple receivers and looking thru his progression (tho he still needs more help).

I'm not sure which Smith you're talking about, but he plays QB. Bellisari was a joke and ran anytime he didnt' see a wideopen man waving for a pass (and even that sometimes led to scrambling by himself).

As for happy feet, regardless of how dumb Hermann is and how poor their LBs are, their DL is quite good (especially now that Woodley moved to DE). There were a number of times where non-happy feet would have been drive ending sacks, and instead Smith danced around (or spun out of tackles) and created plays with his feet. Those plays were NOT always scrambling yards either, I can think of three plays where his mobility bought Ginn enough time to break free.

I would not by any stretch say that Smith has happy feet in the sense that he is overly prone to leave the pocket early to pick up yards on the ground. Heck, his TD pass to Gonzo in the Michigan game alone is a testament to his poise and patience in the pocket. That pocket was caving in on him so fast, and he still threw a dime. Smith generally waits until he has no other option when he runs and he's even made jump throws when the opportunity was there....just to further the thought that he doesn't just take off and run.

He makes plays with his legs, but doesn't over do it. Zwick on the other hand...when I see any DLineman or LB'er penetrate the OL, I'm just waiting for Zwick to do that horribly slow spin in the backfield and then get smashed to the ground or chased backwards for a five yard loss.

Making a comparison between Bellisorry and Smith is absolutely absurd.

I don't get the point. What does Bellisari have to do with Smith/Zwick?

The point is Bellisari had TWICE the happy feet that Smith has. That's right, SB had 4 feet, and they were all happy.

Seriously though, how in the hell can we be complaining about TS having happy feet after running for 140+ yards against Michigan? Doesn't that strike anyone else as being a little ridiculous?

The difference is TS scrambles and picks up yards, SB ran around in circles until he got sacked.

And now they're sad, because you're bashing him.

I guess I still don't see the point. Why are we talking about Bellisari when discussing Smith vs. Zwick?

Maybe Troy Smith is being coached to take off after say, 5 seconds. Weren't we all happy with the results? His "happy feet" are one of his gifts at the position. And it could be argued that in the Purdue game he should of taken off at the goal line on the first too trips down there that were interceptions!

Has anyone heard if Schlegal had his knee surgery? He played pretty well on a bum knee last year!

Thats wonderful that you can think of 3 plays. I can think of 3 GAMES where he had happy feet. I was sick to death of screaming at the TV "THROW THE DAMN BALL YOU IDIOT"

Happy feet is NEVER a good thing with a QB.
