Oregon will pose a different challenge than Iowa. A quicker and more athletic team. But I don't think that they are as disciplined on D as Iowa is. Definitely a better Offense. Plus we have to travel to Eugene and they have one more day to prepare. It will be a challenge for sure. Probably our biggest test of the regular season.
A few things.

Oregon is excessively aggressive on defense. They’re actually extremely aggressive overall. Dan Lanning really is UFM 2.0 in that he loves to play speed and he loves to dial up pressure.

That’s not a great thing though when you’re playing a team like OSU that can hurt you in so many ways. Likewise, the OL for Oregon is their problem area and that’s not exactly good for them considering our DL.

The game really will be about the typical things that it always boils down to on big games. No turnovers, don’t do stupid things on special teams, and run the ball (as well as stop the run).

That and Gabriel is prone to a few bone headed throws a game

@OregonBuckeye How are the Ducks in the trenches? I've heard questions about the O-line, but I'm more curious on how the D-Line stacks?
I have watched a bit of Oregon games and their DL is pretty damn good when motivated. They'll be motivated early on, but you can break their will like we did in the Natty game. OL is good for sure, but we just need to stop the run early. That's my take anyways.

the RB had his best game of season vs sparty on Friday night. Im thinking the Iowa game /Kaleb Johnson were the perfect tuneup for our Defense

Right. James is the real deal at RB. But so was Johnson. We saw what a difference maker Tyliek is on the inside against Iowa and hopefully we will see more of the same against the Ducks. I imagine we will see Hancock back on the field this Saturday where we will match Oregon's speed.
As the Captain said in an earlier post Gabriel can scramble and so we need to make sure he is contained. Maybe a slobber knocker from Downs or Ransom will give him second thoughts of tucking and running.

Thought Sonny was supposed to cover the TE as he slips into the flat? Anyway, sounds like a spy is in order. Thought Caleb would do against Iowa, (on their RB), but turns out to be Sonny. Very much looking forward to this game. Winner vaults into the #1 ranking, methinks.

Jet lag is much worse when travelling West to East. I don't think it will be a factor in the Buckeyes play. I also like the way the Buckeyes reacted stoically to the 7-0 halftime lead last week. Even if they are down, a strong second half would be the expectation. This is a true test of two top 5 teams and, should Ohio State win, it's likely the Penn State game also will be a top 5s contest. That would be the end of the soft schedule crapathon in the media. Buckeyes know what they have to do and I like them to get it done.
