Game Thread #2 tOSU at #3 Oregon, Sat. Oct. 12, 7:30 pm ET, NBC

For as much as we hear about “what a veteran “ he is the guy sure makes a lot of very rookie mistakes
Did you even watch the game? He made very limited mistakes and was able to make plays when needed. The last drive needed to be much better but overall this loss wasn’t due to “rookie mistakes”. Everyone’s trying to place blame but he’s on the lower level of those that need to be blamed.

I also just realized, on that final play, we could have attempted a 55 yard FG. Instead we decided to run a play to try to get closer with only 6 seconds on the clock.

That's fucking lunacy.

The more I think about what happened at the end of this game, the more my faith in Day dwindles. That was truly an all-time terrible coaching performance at the end of a game.

55 yarder .... Nugent walking through that door? If they woulda gone after to the kicker from Fredo we mighta had a chance but Fielding doesn't have that leg.. we woulda had to been around the 15 to have any kinda comfort

55 is a lot to ask but you have to at least give him the opportunity. 6 seconds isn't even enough time to get more than like 5 yards. And how much of a difference is 5 yards going to make? Earlier he absolutely drilled a 40 yarder, the ball went through at the top of the uprights. I mean...

Also, what do you mean around the 15? Do you mean the 15 yard line? Literally impossible, lol. Or do you mean 15 yards? Even that would be nearly impossible to do in just 6 seconds.

If that was truly what they were going for, with 6 seconds left, it's insane and a terrible decision.

Have to agree, feel like that would have been Georgia V2
The result may have been the same, sure, but the situations were not equal.

It's Sunday and the sun is shining, but I feel miserable. I'm really not sure what to say and have nothing positive to say other than the Oregon cheerleaders are hot. So yeah, I guess I have nothing to say in this thread because it was already probably said and I want to punch my fist through drywall after that performance.

WIth the kicker we have its a near impossible task. Throw it to the end zone at least or something, the problem is they didn't act like there was 6 seconds left, they just ran a normal play all willy nilly.

I've been saying for a while now that all of the changes in CFB have sapped much of my passion for the sport. One of the bonus side effects is that I don't feel the lows anymore. Five years ago, would've woke up stewing about that game. Today...eh. Disappointed, but not feeling much. I suppose maybe the highs won't be as thrilling either, but we will see

Definitely where I am. It doesn’t affect my outlook as much as it used to.

I suppressed my frustrations last night, but then that bled over into today. So delayed reaction really. When you only get to go to one game a year or less, and those happen to be losing to ttun at home and then this one (after paying a lot of money to do so), it stings more. Maybe I'm the problem, I just need to watch from home lol.

Thetalk out of WHAC never matches what happens in these bigger games.
