I just don't ever see Biggie winning this competition. It's been brought up time and time again from internet chatrooms to dorm room futons and Tupac seems to win it every time.......going away.
With that said, I think the question should be 'Which beat do you like better?" The raw barrage of off-kilter, off-key loops which defined East Coast hip-hop (see "Enter the Wu-Tang"), or the intoxicating grooves from sampled artists such as Parliament, Donny Hathaway, and Isaac Hayes that encapsulated gangsta rap or West Coast hip-hop (see "The Chronic")?
The obvious answer is the latter. How many of you have thrown on "Ready to Die" or "Illmatic" as music for a party? Probably few...if any. Ask the same question for "All Eyez on Me." Shit.....I've done it many-a-times; it's a goddamned ready-made party album. In other words, the easy accessibility of Pac's music makes him a bigger figure in the hall of fame of rap.
