I love Joel. By far best color commentator in college football.

I kind of feel like he’s playing his role here as a trusted voice for the Big 10. Because you aren’t going to hear it anywhere else.

I think the targeting call was technically correct. He lowered crown of helmet. There wasn’t any intent but college almost always errors on side of safety. I fully expected him to be ejected once I saw replay.

The fumble and score is tough to swallow. It’s a legitimate 4 step catch and then Okudah cleanly strips it away. If it were 2 steps, I’d understand....3, I think you’re pushing it. He had 4 steps.

My only thought is that upon replay, they thought the proper call should’ve been forward progress rather than a fumble, so the best way to fix that is just rule it incomplete......but that isn’t replays job. The overturn was really bad.

I’ll be interested in hearing Klatt tomorrow though. It’ll be somewhat therapeutic as he will verbally undress the officiating....

Kind of a sidebar, but I dislike how much college football has turned into politics. Klatt hammering officials as a Fox Sports analyst is akin to MSNBC taking down Trump or Fox News trashing Hillary. The halftime show of our game was an absolute joke.....Reece Davis, David Pollack, and Desmond might as well of been wearing Clemson gear. They were all geeked over Clemson making a comeback and you could sense their excitement of a potential SEC vs ACC championship........which is EXACTLY what ESPN wants.

So it’s frustrating....when you take the college football landscape into consideration (the deck already stacked against the Big 10 bc of ESPN financial interests) and then you dominate the season the way OSU did. And lose the #1 seed after a nearly flawless to the SEC champion...frustrating. After the last 2 seasons of keeping Big 10 out of playoff for what I’d consider “political” purposes (ESPN owning playoff rights and being tied to ACC/SEC)...frustrating. We come in tonight, I think prove we are the better team, and the game comes down to a few close calls that all go against us....frustrating.

I’ll say this....I don’t think OSU was thrilled with an SEC officiating crew to begin with because there is legitimate belief there is a conflict of interest between the league and ESPN. OSU would have much preferred Big 12 or PAC 12 crew....didn’t break their way. And then the game happens, and a lot of it comes down to reviews, and it leaves people skeptical....frustrating.

Three steps and turning into a fourth. Ref staring right at it calls it a fumble.

I want an official statement from the NCAA on this. No it doesn't change the outcome but this is blatant

I never saw this, thanks to lack of stream but are you kidding me??? and that resulted in a score that didnt happen? BS! makes my whining shit more shitty.

I don't understand.

If the Clemson receiver steps out of bounds on that play after one step it's a catch.

But he took three more steps in bounds and the ball is stripped away it becomes not a catch.

Yep. Evidently, if you catch a ball with your hands and never tuck the ball, it’s forever going to be in complete /incomplete limbo.... In the reviewers’ eyes.
