#19 Ohio State 75, Penn State 64 (final)

My guess would be b/c Lewis has in every game so far looked like he deserves to be out there more than Sylvester. No offense to Sylvester, but he's gotten out of the gate incredibly slowly this year, with the exception of the Wisconsin game. Today's game was no different--when he finally came in, he got swatted trying to dunk, he got called for 2 fouls, and he made several more bad passes, something he's been doing a lot of this year. I hope he can turn it around, and I believe he can, but I don't blame Matta at all for recognizing Lewis's superior play on the court relative to Sylvester.

Look. Trust me. Syl's got a sore back. He probably won't play more than 18-19 minutes. Yes, Lewis had a nice little game in garbage time rout action vs. PSU. No, Matta is not giving Syl's starting spot away. If anyone here wants to make a fucking bet as to who will start at Iowa (assuming Syl's back allows it), I'll take it right now.

By the way..."with the exception of the Wisconsin game"? ...clearly I need to reiterate.

God, Biddle's a fucking halfwit.

"Sylvester continues to struggle with his shot"? He's raised his shooting average over ninety points in the last six games. Yes, he still has the worst shooting percentage on the team, but over those last six - starting with the LSU game - he's shooting 48.3% from the field, and 63.6% from three. Hey Biddle: Do a little fucking research next time, you brainless chimp.

I tend to disagree with that. If you look at Wisconsin's second chance points, you'll see that we gave up way too many offensive rebounds, particularly in the first half. When the game's tied and we're shooting 15% better from the field, you know that turnovers and second chance points are to blame.

We're blessed with guards--Foster, Sullinger and Lewis--who can really rebound for their size. They have to do it consistently. But we'll never be a great rebounding team; Dials isn't quick enough and we lack a bruising power forward to clean the boards. Sylvester does some nice things offensively, but he's a liability on defense and particularly on the boards. Ideally, Terwilliger would develop into a guy we could play alongside Dials occasionally, particularly against teams with lots of size. Though I must say, Sullinger has done a great job morphing into a Roger Powell sort of smallish power forward.

IIRC the count was 34 to 32 and they are one of the best rebounding teams around.

fortunately the lions are raping our players on fouls, so they are finally picking up some fouls. Still only have 5 after a flurry of fouls.

Great 3 by matt, answered by PSU at the other end.

64-58.

Big 10 footer by Sylvester right in the heart of the lane.
