Butler's really the stabilizing force on this team. He doesn't turn the ball over, and he doesn't put up bad shots like many of our players seem to do from time to time. However, he always seems to know when we need a big basket and either takes it to the hoop or knocks down a three from the top of the key. He's also a terror on defense for opposing PG's. You almost had to feel sorry for Luber out there--overmatched, period.

You've gotta feel good for Butler. Coming into this season many were ready to hand the starting job in '06 to Conley. Now I think it's clear that Conley will have to earn his backup minutes and Butler will be the starter. His assists should skyrocket next year, distributing the ball to Oden, Cook, Lighty and Lewis.

Twig's playing better, but he'll need to improve every area of his game if he wants to hold on to a significant spot in the rotation next year. I've been pretty impressed with his shooting, though.

Good pts, and about Twig, he will improve. This kid has a great work ethic.

I'm sure he's fine for football, but he clearly knows little/nothing about basketball. And his writing - honestly - is very pedestrian. The fact that the television crew was clueless as well isn't much of an excuse for saying that a player 'lost' his starting spot when he didn't. That's a blind assumption, and completely inaccurate. Don't journalists have a responsibility to the players and the fans to report the truth?

Dammit, I forgot to discuss the "DUI" chant. The students did it while Sullinger was at the line I believe. I don't have a problem with that.....students being clever. But the dipshit lady behind me who thought the OH IO chant was annoying also thought that it must be embarassing to have a DUI and then have the students chant it.

I guess that's more embarassing than having a women's basketball coach who is being investigated for kicking multiple lesbians off her team just for being lesbians.

That sort of policy would be the end of women's college sports. Seriously though, Penn State students might be the worst, most off-base chanters in the history of...history. Chanting overrated when you're down 10? What does it say about your own team when you think the opposition's overrated because they're only beating you, on the road, by a comfortable margin?

I asked on the PSU scout board, and after many 17-10 responses, they said it was b/c they sucked and took us down to the wire :roll1:

It is quite comical how even when talking basketball with a PSU fan, they bring up this year's football game...maybe they forget the fact that the very next week, they choked away a lead and a chance for an undefeated season against Michigan. Sure must suck when the biggest thing you have to brag about in the decade is a home win vs. a conference opponent. Penn State is so cute...like Michigan and Ohio State's little sister.

Yep you hit it on the head. We base our success on winning championships and BCS games and they base thier success on beating us or scUM.

Very comical.

Exactly why I just stare at their shirts with the 17-10 score on them and just shake my head. I own a 2002 National Champions TShirt, they own a 2005 We Beat Ohio State TShirt. :shake:
