#19 Ohio State 75, Penn State 64 (final)

trap game...

Be wary, Buckeyes. PSU's been showing some serious game lately, blasting Purdue and taking Iowa down to the wire. We can't take this game for granted, even though we whipped them by 30+ only a week or two ago. We shot lights out in that game and we haven't duplicated a performance like that since. We're certainly the better team but we can't afford to be so certain of that coming off the huge Wisconsin win. If we don't shoot the ball well, teams will collapse on Dials--and we've all seen how poorly Terrence handles the double team.

This team is capable of shooting with any team in the country. But it's defense and rebounding that will determine how far they'll go this year.

It will be interesting to see how they come off a big win. Plus...the 100+ points was only two weeks ago, so that is fresh in everybodies mind. I'd rather not see this one close in the second half...if we get up early, Penn State might just start thinking about two weeks ago and be done for. But, it's a Big 10 road game...and any win on the road in the Big 10 is tough to come by.

Your insight is matched only by your beauty and fine taste in wines.

(I know him)

Yes, I agree, let's get Je'Kel Foster going again. Luckily for all of us, Je'Kel shows up to play defense every game (his denial of Ager in the MSU game was simply amazing) whether or not he's shooting well. Right now, the poor guy can't even hit free throws. Luckily we have other scoring options, like Matt "Jekyll-and-Hyde" Sylvester and Ron "baseline drive through a brick wall" Lewis to pick up the slack.

J.J. is in a bit of a shooting slump as well. When he's hitting 3's he's impossible to guard. Sounds like a blowout of PSU is exactly what the doctor ordered.

I want to see Foster get out of this slump. An away game might be just the thing. After all, last time he saw these guys he couldn't miss.

There hasn't been much talk about it, but the guys did well rebounding against Wisconsin. I hope they continue that with these guys. I'd like to see another ass-kicking, I'm still pissed about football season.

I tend to disagree with that. If you look at Wisconsin's second chance points, you'll see that we gave up way too many offensive rebounds, particularly in the first half. When the game's tied and we're shooting 15% better from the field, you know that turnovers and second chance points are to blame.

We're blessed with guards--Foster, Sullinger and Lewis--who can really rebound for their size. They have to do it consistently. But we'll never be a great rebounding team; Dials isn't quick enough and we lack a bruising power forward to clean the boards. Sylvester does some nice things offensively, but he's a liability on defense and particularly on the boards. Ideally, Terwilliger would develop into a guy we could play alongside Dials occasionally, particularly against teams with lots of size. Though I must say, Sullinger has done a great job morphing into a Roger Powell sort of smallish power forward.

Anybody going to be in attendance? No? OK, I guess I'll go represent the Buckeye Nation.
I went there for the football game...like hell if i'm going back there anytime soon. While you are there why don't you throw some cups of piss on those assholes and if "accidently" lower your shoulder into a few of them as you are walking by. Oh, and throw rocks at them during the game...that was a good one.

Penn State can kiss my ass...they'd have a cool fan base if they weren't a bunch of assholes.

Have a nice day...

No seriously

I was there too. Trust me.....I thought Penn State fans were bad before that day, but after? They are far and above the WORST.

That being said, weekends are boring in Sayre, and it's something to do. I fully expect assholes just because my shirt will be red and not blue. I fully expect them to bring up the football game. I don't expect the level of stupidity that I saw in October though. If it is anywhere near that, I'll end up in jail.

Give'em hell BN27......:tongue2:

This will be a good way to start my saturday with a buckeye win.

God, Biddle's a fucking halfwit.

Senior forward Matt Sylvester continues to struggle with his shot. Overall, he is shooting 40 percent from the floor, the worst percentage on the team. Sylvester is averaging 7.8 points and 2.9 rebounds.

Picking up some of the slack is OSU’s bench. Junior guard Ron Lewis is averaging 12.7 points and has proven to be instant offense off the pine. Junior forward Ivan Harris is also playing much better of late. He had two key 3-pointers in the win over Wisconsin.

"Sylvester continues to struggle with his shot"? He's raised his shooting average over ninety points in the last six games. Yes, he still has the worst shooting percentage on the team, but over those last six - starting with the LSU game - he's shooting 48.3% from the field, and 63.6% from three. Hey Biddle: Do a little fucking research next time, you brainless chimp.

Ron Lewis is a key player off the bench, but Ivan Harris? Shit. I want nothing more than for him to come back and contribute, but in our last four big, important games (Wiscy, MSU, IU and LSU), he's had - respectively - six points, a DNP, two points, and a goose egg. Seriously. What the fuck? Does this guy actually watch the games?

By the way, Dave - Sylvester is also averaging more points per game in Big Ten play than everyone on the team except for Dials and Lewis, the latter of which had 26 points in a lot of garbage minutes in the rout against Penn State. Here are the stats:

Dials - 15.4 ppg
Lewis - 13.2 ppg
Sylvester - 11.4 ppg
Foster - 9.8 ppg
Sullinger - 9.6 ppg
Butler - 8.6 ppg
