#19 Ohio State 75, Penn State 64 (final)

if you ask me, they are ignoring some really tough fouls.. and then call complete crap fouls where there is barely any contact (like that one which sent Sull to the line).

32-27.

Butler is the only one rebounding out here. Great drive by butler, but got called for traveling.

I think Butler and Foster each have 5 rebounds at the half. But the big guys definitely need to do a better job on the boards. Penn State had at least 10 offensive rebounds, and most of their points are 'second-chance'.

PSU, sure came to play today.

It wasnt a bad first half, but wasnt great. Hopefully Dials can stay out of foul trouble in teh second half.

The refs have made a few questionable calls, but I like the fact they are letting them battle on the inside.

The travel on Butler was horrible, he still had his right foot on the ground and he dribbled it once and the ball was on its way down and they called traveling after the basket went in.

We have to rebound better in the second half and take care of the ball.

Just curious but does anyone know why Lewis started over Sylvester?

40, vr suggested it was due to a sore back.

foster has done a fine job as well, I did not realize he had 5. Either way, we need our guys inside to act like they are taller than our guards.

For the record, since the television crew seems to have no fucking clue, the only reason Sylvester is sitting is that his back has been tender of late. I'm already missing having him on the floor on offense as a passer.
whoa, you miss his passing? Really?

He's thrown atleast 2 bad passes that I can think of, possibly a third. He had a bad/stupid entry pass to Dials, then he threw one to Foster that was terrible. He mad 1 good pass to Dials. His passing is terrible overall though.

This is what happens when relying on jumpers. They don't go down, we don't win. But I'd still like them to keep shooting. That zone is giving them the looks, can't be hesitant just because a few haven't gone down.

Rebound...ugh, even with Dials in there wasn't much of a rebounding presence.

Here's to a better half.:gobucks3: :gobucks4:

PSU is playing their hearts out. We need to stop their second opportunities with some better rebounding and boxing out. Also, realize that little guys getting rebounds can signal good boxing out, which we have done a few times.

Let's take it to them this half and seal the deal!

My guess would be b/c Lewis has in every game so far looked like he deserves to be out there more than Sylvester. No offense to Sylvester, but he's gotten out of the gate incredibly slowly this year, with the exception of the Wisconsin game. Today's game was no different--when he finally came in, he got swatted trying to dunk, he got called for 2 fouls, and he made several more bad passes, something he's been doing a lot of this year. I hope he can turn it around, and I believe he can, but I don't blame Matta at all for recognizing Lewis's superior play on the court relative to Sylvester.
