'15 OH F Carlton Bragg (Kansas Signee, transfer to Arizona State, transfer to New Mexico)

Wonder how the pressures to win play in here.

I don't think winning is an important factor. It's showcasing himself for the next level. If he can be the "man" on OSU, playing in the BIG, that would be more valuable to his future than riding pine in Kansas. Illinois would be a similar situation, or pretty much any school he considers... he's not ending up at Kentucky or UNC.

Its a conundrum for Matta though. Risk bringing on a potential "problem child" for someone who "could" have great potential.

I'm not seeing much of a downside here.

1) Morale/chemistry has been poor for awhile (despite Mr. Predictable's take in Marc's thread)

2) I assume they've already set up the low level of tolerance for continued issues. If he screws up, you kick him out.

3) If he's recovered, you're using up an extra scholarship next year (that they probably won't fill) and have a former 5-star kid coming in the year after that.

4) Matta isn't turning this around without a giant influx of talent.

Totally agree, you're adding high end talent, which you havent had much luck with of late.

If the coaches want him or don't want him, it's no big deal either way. I don't see professional-level talent out of Bragg. He can be a decent player at the forward spot (he is not a viable center). Interesting to see how Matta plays this one.

Agree. If he comes that is fine but if he does not that is fine also because the time he is eligible to play Bazley will be here plus we have other guys (DF and Potter) who can play that same position. I know Potter might be a stretch for the 4 but you never know what is going to happen in a couple years.
