I was listening to Austins local espn affiliate and they were going crazy over a pic swoopes put on his facebook with him holding a heisman on UTs campus with his own customized jersey on. I thought it was funny to post how much this city goes crazy over their recruits.
but on a sidenote, they did mention that swoopes definitely is interested in osu and we will be a thorn in UTs side until the end, along with LSU

Not directed towards you at all but when we start actually landing Texas recruits that Mack Brown wants, I'll believe we have a shot then, UFM or no UFM.

I believe a customized UT would be a NCAA violation if it was provided by UT...

When mack starts landing Texans he wants (once more), then I will consider his past dominance to be relevant. This past junior day was shocking.

I hear what you're stating RB, just relaying a message, that's all. I know he's still a longshot but at least we're seen as a threat to land the kid. We couldn't say the same in the past.

And it was noted on the station that it wasn't a violation because his name wasn't on it and he wasn't allowed to take the jersey home. Oh the lovely loopholes coaches can find.

With a few exceptions of A&M landing some guys, Texas still is nearly impossible to beat for guys they offer in-state.

Not a problem, thanks for sharing the info. I am just skeptical of stealing guys from Texas until I see it happen.

I'll try and find the link, but I read this was intentional by Mack Brown. So the article said, he wants his recruits to be more certain that they truly want to go to Texas before they end up pulling the trigger, and that Texas is planning on moving away from the very early recruiting schedule. Could be spin, could be veracity.

Dude, I think this entire city's mouths dropped when the struck out on all the recruits on their junior day. UT is used to having almost half their class done by now just from that single junior day. As of today they only have 2 commits with the second committing today.
Urbans first year of recruiting will be interesting, LSUs continued success and if UT can get back to prominence are 3 big factors to osu stealing some big time TX recruits. Also Texas a&m's success in the sec, and if Baylor can continue their stellar year or if it was a fluke are 2 other factors that can work in our favor.
