There is a numbers problem. They are 81 total. Townsend would be 82. Elliott would be 83. They can still resolve the problem up until the first day of fall practice or the first day of fall semester whichever comes first. So they can still have 83 today. They need a punter next year, so hopefully this is not an issue.

There is still a numbers problem. But it doesn't have be resolved today. And it definitely won't be resolved by yanking a scholarship on signing day.

So what do? The problem will eventually have to be addressed. So if the coaching staff decides to do nothing at the moment, won't they be forced to pull scholarships later?

I have zero inside information, but my guess the staff already knows there's guys that are looking elsewhere for playing time or to be closer to home or whatever.

I recall reading on rivals a few weeks ago that 2-3 players had transferred/dropped out of the program.

Were they all walk ons? And I just realized this isn't the 2013 discussion thread. Sorry for being OT.
