If the other option is running someone else off or not having a ship for him by fall because he's number 83, I think everyone prefers it be handled this way, upfront and honestly. Unfortunate as the situation might seem, if you're worried about bad vibes, this is probably the least bad vibes you'll get.

again, Johnny's offer was never pulled, his family has said nothing has changed with his status over OSU

The Buckeyes need a punter, with Ben Buchanan graduating. The best possible option on the current roster is Frank Epitropoulos, who redshirted last year with an injury. He was recruited as a receiver by Luke Fickell?s staff but also punted in high school, and the receiver position just got a lot more crowded.But asked about Epitropoulos as a punting option Wednesday, Meyer said, ?He?s been hurt since he?s been here, so I don?t know.?

As for whether some outside punting help may be coming, Meyer said: ?It?s just a complicated thing right now. It?s a concern.?

So could Townsend still come aboard? Or is the Class of 2013 complete?

That article was written today at 7:41 AM so I have no idea what is going on.

Also, my apologies to anyone that I have offended with regard to the staff's handling of Johnny's offer. I do not have premium info so I have no idea what this staff talked to him about but obviously he should have known something from the quotes I am receiving with my post.
