Nike 7ON brings high school stars to higher prominence
By Doug Farrar

WR/DB Shane Wynn, Glenville, High, Cleveland, Ohio - Class of 2011. Wynn was very impressive in space, especially with his after-catch moves. The 5-foot-8, 155-pound speedster was great at catching the ball out of a quick out or up pattern and twisting his way upfield through defenders. Reports indicate that he's got a lot of big-school offers, and it's easy to see why. The Cleveland team, who suited up as "Hyper Strong", was noted from the start for their speed.

Completely different positions too. Holiday was a pure RB in HS and caught only 7 balls his whole time at LSU. Wynn is a receiver. I hate when people make the comparison, if only for that reason alone.

Its still a valid arguement because both players are of extremely small stature who utilize their speed in space. Holliday wasn't able to do much in college other than his Sophomore year. Shane hasn't been to college yet I know, but he's not as fast as Trindon and if the only way that he sees the field is on special teams, I think we should go after other kids who can play at various positions. There haven't been too many good reports for him at WR on many sites as of late(Rivals had a decent blurb). I hope he can play as good as the offers he has, because he doesn't seem to fit in our offense. We rarely run screens for WRs or get our WRs in space like he needs to be utilized.

There was just a good report on him yesterday. I get that you don't think we should of offered him, as it seems you continue to go out of your way to try and put him down. Have you not seen the increase in WR bubble screens and quick outs that we've thrown?

Wynn is a really good football player who happens to be a little short. If he was 3 inches taller he would be in contention for the top offensive player in the state. Really don't understand why so many people are down on Glenville this year. Give me Wynn, Walker, Sturdivant, Jones and Grant and i'd be happy to call it a class. For all the complaints about having to possibly wait for these kids to commit in Feb, let me know who else you'd rather see Tressel wait til the end on other than these kids. Barksdale is not an acceptable answer.

Is that any different than saying "if his 40 time were .3 seconds faster, he'd be a 5 star," or "if he didn't drop those 3 passes per game, he'd be really consistent." Height is pretty huge for a receiver. I'm not saying we should or shouldn't go after him, but I think his size absolutely has to be considered, especially when we're tight for scholarships between this year and next.

Thus the 'ATH' in the thread title...
