Turson made the most of the big stage
"He makes me a good coach," Plymouth coach Brad Turson said. "I gave him some freedom to call some sets he thought would work because he knows a little better than I do what's going on out there."
The 6-3 senior
point guard .......The multi-time All-Ohioan ended the night with 29 points, 12 rebounds and five steals, just three days after a 23-point, eight-rebound performance against Archbold in a 42-37 semifinal victory.
It was enough to get LCC's legendary coach Bob Seggerson to wax poetic about the performance against the Thunderbirds.
"I put my arm around (Turson) and I said we haven't played anybody better than you this year," Seggerson said.
Considering he's seen Lima Senior's Anton Hutchins, a first-team All-Northwest District performer in Division I, as well as Northwest District Player of the Year and Ohio State-bound
Aaron Craft of Liberty-Benton, Seggerson's compliment carried some weight.
"I tell you Robert Morris is getting something," Seggerson said. "That kid can play. We wore him out. We had four different guys guarding him throughout the game, and I'm surprised he could lift the ball at the end of the game, let alone shoot it. Our
job was to wear him down and he still found ways to score.
"He's a terrific player and he deserves every accolade that he's got coming."
"It's great to have a player like Brook. I've been blessed for four years, and he's my son, and that's even better," coach Turson said. "He's a
winner, and he's going to the next level to do some things and show some people and it's going to be fun to watch."
It was a painful loss for the Big Red, but it was certainly a fun performance to watch on such a large stage.
