'10 OH OL Andrew Donnal (Iowa Verbal)

There is no way we're taking 4-5 in this class. 3 looks like the max.

If you could grab Donnal and James and move on, it would be good. You are in better shape right now with players at other positions than OL. It will be interesting how Tressel handles it with only 10 spots left.

I could see only one other OL being part of this class besides Norwell.

No post-camp offer yet. If one doesn't come shortly, then I'm assuming it won't ever materialize.

True...like I said after the first time I saw his film, I just don't know that we end up offering Donnal. I think he ends up being the Zebrie Sanders or Chris Freeman of this class...a lot of people like him but the staff just doesn't offer. He has a lot of potential and size but I didn't see the mauler attitude in his film. I like him a lot but I'll trust the staffs judgment in any case.

I hope you don't offer Donnal, because I would love to have him.

I like his film, and think he can be a very effective OT at the B10 level. I disagree on the mauler comment, as he develops and gains strength, I think he could be a dominant OT.

He could come to MSU and compete for a starting OT position once he gets stronger and puts some weight on. If he works his butt off, he could be a 3 year starter at OT on MSU's OL after redshirting. Not sure I can say the same thing if he went to tOSU. Your talent at OL is much better than ours is right now.

He can get stronger, but you don't have to be a horse to have a bad attitude...I think he lacks a consistent mean streak. I still think he can be a great OL at the next level though.

Great get for Iowa and a good choice on Andrew's behalf...Iowa is a great place for an OL like Andrew to go. Like I said at the beginning of the thread, every year we have a Chris Freeman or Zebrie Sanders we don't offer and I saw Donnal being that "guy" this year. Here's to a great career for Andrew though.
