'10 CA QB Nick Montana (Washington Signee; transfer to Tulane)

Naturally, he knew he couldn't compete with Chucks Super Bowl rings.
I'm not 100% familiar with the recruiting process, but I would bet the farm that Nick (having an offer and being Joe's son who spoke with the team in the past) has met JT.

Please refer to post 397 "Same timeframe, trying to visit in summer, has not met Tressel"

I will take that farm now.

I just split off about a dozen posts...not sure about the logic behind a few of them when everyone knows exactly how we do things in this recruiting forum.

If the kid chooses to go elsewhere, so be it...but we are not going to play the "well we didn't want him anyway" game.

Thanks, grad. I'm very tired of seeing those messages, particularly in this case where people keep bringing up Braxton Miller, a kid who's only a sophomore in high school, who's been seriously injured, and who hasn't committed to OSU. Montana has been heavily targeted by the staff and I'd love to have him. The timing sets up perfectly for him -- a redshirt year to get bigger, a rs-freshman year to lean the system and then three years running the show. I'll be very disappointed if he doesn't come to OSU.

I think that one of the reasons we get shots at kids like this is the class that the staff and program exude.

We, as what I think is the most rational online community associated with the program, should always be mindful of following the example set by the staff and the program. We are set apart from the rest (intentionally left vague)... let's never loose sight of why that is.

Thanks for taking care of it Grad...

Thanx. You'd think we were all adults around here.

Sadly

I may win my bet. He was the type of kid that when he visited Columbus he needed to commit soon there after. There has been chatter that he may make a return visit, but nothing was ever seriously setup. Oh well...

Just my 2 cents worth. From reading between the lines I think Montana treated the staff honestly. If (if) he is seriously leaning towards ND then as rumors have it the staff must have known. They offered Hendrix shortly after the ND rumors started and I don't think they would do that based on internet chatter alone. He it appears that he considered Ohio State, made another choice and let the staff know. Nothing wrong with that if that turns out to be the case.

ND isn't the real competition. I know where that rumor came from and it is false.
