'09 TN WR Marlon Brown (Georgia Signee)

Why?

Randy Moss in my opinion is the best wide out in football. He dominated high school, college, and the pro's. I can only hope Marlon continues to dominate as he had at the high school level.

T.O. is pretty good as well.

I think what he meant was while those WRs are/were elite WRs, their childhood antics ruined team chemistry.

But there are ways to be cocky and not over the top like Moss/Owens. Like Hines Ward would be an example.

Was really impressed with his agility for a 6'5" guy. Just seems to be a big play waiting to happen, but would to see him be a little less cocky.

I was lucky to meet Marlon when he visited tOSU recently....there was no question about him being cocky. He is a downright nice and polite person.

I hope working with Cris Carter helped convince this guy to come here.

Listening to local sports talk radio here in Knoxville......they seem confident in the end, Brown will choose Tennessee. If I'm Brown.....do I really want to wait until my sophomore, maybe even my junior season before Kiffin has his prototype QB in place??

I am hearing the same thing, I hope they are wrong. I think Kiffin screwed up when he basically told Taj Boyd to take a hike.

I've got the same amount of rings as both of them combined. While both players may be great performers, take into account the negative impact they have on the team chemistry.
That being said, by no means do I feel like Marlon Brown is cocky or rude or anything like that. I saw what you were referring to and that's just HS kids having fun. I'm looking forward to hearing about where Marlon chooses to attend, all the while hoping he's wearing scarlet and gray next year! Go bucks!
you won a d1aa championship? a mac title?
you won a hs state title in football? state titles in the 100m and 200m?

Stock report from the Under Armour All-America Game - ESPN

Down: Marlon Brown, WR, Harding Academy/Memphis, Tenn., Undecided

Brown came into the week as the top UA All-American receiver but really didn't do much in practice to justify it. While his overall size and body strength was really impressive in person, he showed just adequate burst out of his breaks and top-end speed after the catch. Brown obviously made an early statement in the UA game itself, showing better speed in the second level and big-play ability. While he may be a gamer, we still feel his play is inconsistent. There is no questioning his striking frame and big hands as an outside receiver prospect, but we thought we would see more fluidity, explosiveness and game-breaking ability deserving of a No. 2 overall receiver. While still an impressive athlete for his size, he just did not flash the game-changing ability we expected to see and at times blended in with the pack.

They must have missed that little 71-yard TD catch and run on their first play from scrimmage...
