'09 FL DB Brandon McGee (Miami-FL Verbal)

I would think OSU saves a couple spots for guys that want to wait, and McGee would be one of them. OSU will likely have to wait, and will wait, for Corey Adams. I agree with Wad...I think McGee is explosive and I owuld love to see him in the slot. I think the goal is to have the vast majority of this class in before season starts, and save 2-3 ships for rest of the recruiting year imo. I think McGee, Adams, and Berry are worth waiting on. I won't fret if we miss out on McGee, but I would love to have him. He's on top of my wish list personally.

I agree with you about these guys being worth waiting for, but how many ships can we save? If you think McGee, Adams, and Berry will all have a spot, consider that both Glenville boys have spots assured as well. Then think about the fact that most think Brown, McDouglad, and Vlad are done deals. There has also been speculation that if Watt doesn't commit, one of the OH OL lineman will be offered (and commit). What about a 2nd TE? Can we really save that many spots?

I know it's confusing...I just think if there is legit interest from Brandon, OSU will hold his spot. At this point, it's anyones best guess.

Rivals $

6/24

From VolQuest....Talks about his visits to Tennessee & North Carolina. Hopes to narrow things down sometime in July or by the end of summer. Says Tennessee will definitely be in his top 5 and North Carolina has a shot as well.

Early playing time is 1 thing tOSU won't promiss IMO , so their goes our chances at getting McGee .
DB is one position the best play at early in their careers at tOSU. Not to mention the fact that Jenkins, Washington, Lane, O'Neal, Russell, Coleman, Patterson & Gant all come off the board before McGee's 2nd year in college (and Amos if his Med RS does not kick in). If Washington plays his way high enough in the draft, Chekwa could be the lone veteran CB returning for '09.

I really think the only spots they save are for Berry & Adams. These are positions of need. That puts McGee, Vlad, Banks, Watt, Sims etc. in a race for the last spot. I think the staff relaizes that McGee's interest maybe dimming.

Hall will be saved a spot. Bet your mortgage on it.
