McGee and Hunter both ending up at Tennessee? Well, you win some and lose some....

Yeah they will get some quality players in the secondary. Hunter never had an offer anyways but I agree he is a good player. Imo, whoever gets McGee will have trouble not putting the ball in his hands. He either plays both ways, or goes offense I think, which is why I'm a bit disappointed we won't land him...I thought he would be a great slot-type player.

McGee to decide Monday, has Vols in final four : Football Recruiting : GoVolsXtra.com

School in Lauderhill, Fla., will announce his college decision at 10 a.m. on Monday.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound McGee said he will choose between Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida State and Miami. He has visited all but Ole Miss.

Whichever school McGee selects will be his final choice.

McGee, who plans to graduate this fall and enroll in January, said he will only take an official visit to the school he chooses.

“I’m not going to play the decommit game and take visits or anything like that,” he said.

Stable staff?

Bowden could keel over at any moment.

Fullmer hasn't lost less than 3 games since 2001 with a program whose expectations are higher than that.

I guess that leaves the guy who got run out of Arkansas for chasing away great QBs and chasing after news anchors.

Not trashing McGee - just find this an interesting group.

(MY bad - I had missed the Fullmer extension. But I still don't think he can survive four more years without a title run.)

"I will not be picking Miami," he said. "It's down to Tennessee, FSU and Ole Miss."
"To be honest, I have never really been high on Miami," said McGee about his rumored favorite. "I've been there a few times and I have a good relationship with the coaches, but I don?t understand why people think I am leaning or going there. Miami really has never stood out to me. They are up and coming but I have never been infatuated with them."

Good luck to Brandon at Miami. I agree though. I'm always a bit wary of a kid who pulls stuff like this. Most likely it's just kids being kids, but playing college football today is a different beast, and you've got to deal with the media in a reasonable manner. One wonder's if he won't be producing bulletin board material before the FSU game in a couple years.

Plantation standout Brandon McGee verbally commits to University of Miami

By Christy Cabrera Chirinos |South Florida Sun-Sentinel August 12, 2008 There were drills, weather delays and coaches shouting instructions.

The signs of high school football's return were everywhere Monday as teams across South Florida had their first practices of the season.

But for one highly touted prospect, it marked the end of a grueling recruiting process.

In front of teammates, coaches and family members, Plantation's Brandon McGee verbally committed to play collegiately at Miami. Flashbulbs popped, reporters jotted down notes and video cameras recorded every word.

"I think I am definitely confident with the decision I made," said McGee, who considered Florida State University, Ohio State University, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee. "I'm staying close to home. There won't be a bigger supporting cast anywhere else."
