'08 WV OL Josh Jenkins (West Virginia Signee)

Hehe good point! Go post that on CBSSportslines message board and watch the impending meltdown towards you. That sight is freaking hilarious! :slappy:

Josh is coming on board. I'd look for it during the Christmas break. Just got a hunch........

Thomas leads Big Reds past St. Albans
St. Albans-Parkersburg statistics
by Rich Stevens
Daily Mail sportswriter

Parkersburg quarterback Andy Thomas threw for two touchdowns and the Big Reds kept its second half offensive attack between the tackles in winning the school's 11th state championship, 22-15 over St. Albans in the Class AAA state title game at Wheeling Island Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

"I heard someone say, 'They're getting way too physical for us,'" said Parkersburg senior offensive tackle Josh Jenkins. "I just thought, 'Dog, this just isn't right.' I told our O-line, 'This is our half, we have to get physical.' I went for a pancake (block) every time."

Decision Time for Parkersburg's Josh Jenkins
Monday, December 3, 2007

By now, Josh Jenkins is used to being in high demand.

The senior offensive lineman has had nearly every major college recruiter try to sway his decision for life after Wood County.

You name the program, they've stuffed a letter in his mailbox or paid a trip to Stadium Field.

And why not?

At 6'5", 305 pounds, with a shuttle time that makes men holding the stopwatch stare in disbelief, Jenkins is one of the most highly-touted Mountain State pigskin products in years.

It got so bad that Jenkins made himself virtually unavailable for months at a time.

He disconnected his cellphone, letting only a select handful of people know how to get in contact with him.

Now that the Big Reds have been crowned Class-AAA State Champions for a second straight year, Jenkins can finally turn his attention to answering the question on everyone's mind.

Where will he go?

Jenkins verbally committed to West Virginia University but lists four other schools as potential places to play next year.

Florida, Florida State, Vanderbilt, and Ohio State all remain in the running for Jenks' services, starting in 2008.

Am I the only way that didn't like the way he was talking in that video, He kinda seems like he is heading to WVU. He said "I'm still committed to WVU, I never de-committed or anything"
I dunno It just didn't sound like he was overly open minded, but who knows.

No, I'm not worried.
In fact I'd say he is as open minded as you could hope for.

The comments you talk to are the middle two of five statements in the video.

1 - He is now ready to make some decision on where he goes sometime soon.
2 - I'm still committed to West Virginia
3 - I never decomitted or anything.
4 - I approached this differently from some others - turning my phone off, so if you didn't have the number you couldn't contact me.
5 - Now the seasons over - 5 teams have his phone number, (and Ohio State we know is one of those) he will make a decision on one of those five teams sometime soon.

Interpretation
1 - He isn't firmly committed to West Virginia, certainly the Soft Verbal label fits
2 - & 3 - Dispelling rumors more for the benefit of the Beckley West Va. Media and "Eer fanbase - he is speaking in his home state ya know.
4 - my read is that this was clear avoidance of or reduction of the local / national pressure. Entirely consistent with his approach as reported here in this thread. (I wonder if Brewster was one who had his number - must search thread).
5 - Back to point one. Soft Verbal fits. You don't do the rounds unless you really want to make sure, thus Ohio State now has an open chance to close a deal ... not much more you can ask for beyond Jenkins donning Scarlet and Gray.

Bring on the Brew Crew  Close the Deal

You can't say you are committed to a school that many times and then just back out of it on announcement day. He won't be coming here. He loves his home school.
Just like Saban would never leave LSU... and then would never leave the Dolphins for the Tide... who knows wherever he might not leave next? :roll1:
