How bout tall, strong, and a guy with good hands so he could drop back into some coverage with Laurenitis. Though if he would be playing Mike, then not a great chance he will be in coverage a whole lot.
I really think Thaddeus Gibson break out this year. He will be either starting or in the 2-deep by the end of the year at SLB with his recent explosion to 6'3" 240-5 and keeping his speed around the 4.5 range or under & I can see Shayne in the exact same role by the time (If :))he gets on campus... I am thinking Bobby Carpenter-esque here.

Shayne is a pure MLB...watch the film and you will see what I am talking about. Built like Hoobler was coming out of HS but with better speed. Plays downhill. I know 21 loves this kid's film as well. I don't see him playing SLB...this kid is a future All-Big 10 MLB.

Well, Mark Johnson will gie him a run for his money PT wise then... not that that's a bad thing though :).

Johnson could very easily end up at DE...

And I agree with Wad, that Hale has MLB written all over him...

Not to get too far off topic, but I don't think Homan playing MLB is out of the question if Johnson moves to DE. That would give you a lineup of Gibson, Homan, Moeller with Hines and Rolle as your backups on the outside...

I could see that...Schlegel showed you don't have to be a giant to man the middle. I assume we are talking about maybe a year or two from now...after Freeman and Terry leave. That is a nasty starting lineup, and gives you Hines, Rolle and possibly Hale as guys to rotate in.

Exactally my thinking, that gives you more speed on the outside and a kid that just has a nose for the football in the middle...
