From Bill Greene, Devoe says that tOSU DID tell him he would be the only Tailback offered but tOSU may recruit a FB. Also, JT personally told him not to believe the rumors about moving to LB.

does this mean that Haden, Thomas, Smith, and Watson would not be offered TB should they committ? and what does this mean for McGuffie?

Haden, Thomas, and Watson... if u read their updates.. u basically know that OSU isnt recruiting them all that hard, if at all... They may have offers, but the interest between the parties seems limited and I dont think any of those guys will be taking their OSU offers, nor do I think OSU would be ready to accept their pledge..

Thomas is the only one I think that is still getting any real attention from the staff, and that is as a DB. McGuffie would come in as the very definition of an ATH, as ant80 said.

WOW, i did not realize some view him that highly. I know that obviously he is VERY talented, but a top 5 RB, that is incredible...

Guys in my top 5 would be Darrel Scott who is the top dog...Then you have Richard Samuel, Jermie Calhoun, Justin Johnson and DeVoe...

Really the RB class is down this year, and like I said I havent seen everyone, but I don't think it is out of the question to put him up there this high...He ran a 4.55 in tennis shoes on turf, and he was smoking everyone in the one on ones, and last year it was just a matter of big play after big play for him...

He brings great size to the running back position, and doesnt have the problem of being a smaller back that could struggle...

I would absolutely put him top 5.

Watch his scout highlights vs. other guys. The only two people who I'd say were on par with Devoe were Darrell Scott, and Calhoun. (and maybe McGuffie, but I don't consider him a pure tailback).

He ran a 4.55 in basketball shoes. He's easily a 4.45 by the time he leaves college, perhaps even better.

My favorite part about Devoe however is that he's a very complete back. He's very shifty for his size, is probably a better receiver than any back in the top 5, can run with power, but also has the speed to take it outside.

I'm anxious to see how many yards he racks up at Massilon where he'll be in less of an option/spread offense, and more of a pro-style offense. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him rack up 2000+ yards.
