I follow the Mooney program closely and am an alum. I think I do know a little more than others who aren't close to the program.

Two years ago Tressel was the first to offer Kyle McCarthy, Dan's bro, a scholly. I heard the same rhetoric from Kyle. When ND offered later he jumped on it. That family bleeds ND. I would be happy with getting just one of those guys. I think there will be a surprise by season's end. Taylor Hill will jump ahead of Beachum and will be offered by the Bucks.

Sound like we might as well offer Woods...ND is "definetly" the favorite and he is going to look at other schools...he didn't even mention OSU. No huge surprise though because that was the tune being played when he surfaced as a big recruit.

that doesn't sound good. i was really hoping for McCarthy but it sounds like he's got his heart set on heading to "the BYU of the Midwest". If he does go that route hopefully the staff finds out early so they can move on to the next prospect.

I would say the same too. Dan is probably 60% ND and 40% OSU. That family is ND through and through. He has an older brother who graduated from there in '06, now Kyle is there. They may disown him if he chooses OSU...lol.

Yeah I've heard conflicting reports...one side would say that while his bro choose ND, he wasn't thrilled with Weis when he got there and the younger McCarthy wasn't too keen about going there. The other says that this was a misunderstanding and changed when he actually spoke with Weis for awhile. I think the second option seems more accurate.

If we miss out on McCarthy, I would be perfectly fine with no safeties in this class (Woods committed to UCLA).

With Moeller and Hines playing some safety, we have 8-9 guys who are sophomores and freshmen this year at safety. Unless a bigtime guy who just can't be passed up is there, I'd prefer to concentrate on other positions.
