his weight at that combine was misprinted, probably reversed the numbers and he weighed in at 175, johnny is not a small cb

Probably due to the fact that he will need time to add weight when he gets to college compared to guys that will already be there...

Well if he is only 157 that is the reason I said that. If he is 175 then that is a different story.

Read posts #39 and #41 on the previous page where I addressed this exact issue...

I'm from Akron and I've seen him play. He could contribute on returns if needed, but he's still pretty raw when it comes to playing defense/offense. He's great with the ball in his hands, but he still needs to work on the fundamentals of playing his positions(whichever it ends up being).

I think it would be in his best interests to redshirt though, because I can't imagine the situation going on a Buchtel right now will help his development.

Remember how it took Teddy quite a while to get the WR thing down, yet although he was just so-so as a WR as a true freshman he was phenomenal as a returner. Not redshirting Teddy didn't seem to hurt him or the team...

I'm not sure Adams is a Ted Ginn quality player though. I don't think he's as fast, though their ability to evade defenders might be equal.

I don't really think Adams would be capable of having a Ted Ginn type freshman season. He could maybe do half of what Ginn did. Who know though, Adams could end up being better than Ginn. He does have that type of potential in my eyes(that may be a little hometown bias though).

I think he will be offered though, but I guess that is pretty presumptuous.

I think he'll be the lone CB in this class.

Not sure if I agree...zero inside info on that...just a hunch. If he dominates camp, he could get an offer...if he is just "good" instead of "great," I'm not sure it happens for him unless its a late offer.

Hopefully I'm wrong...looks exceptional on film but something just isn't sitting right with ths one.

Ginn is the type of player you are not going to have for four years, which is why you don't redshirt him. Why waste a year? Adams is the type of player that will be around for four years most likely, although it is not certain. So you can afford to redshirt him for a year so he can develop because he is so raw. He will also not be needed that much as a return man with Small, Scott and Saine being here.
