Ben is hearing from Ohio State, Notre Dame, Illinois, Boston College, Illinois, Mississippi and Cincinnati. He does not have a favorite and will not think about it until after basketball season. Ben talks to Connor Smith regularly and he will attend tOSU's camp.

OK... It's official... Some ND fans on the Rivals board have lost it... They got the impression from this article that Martin is already a silent verbal to ND... :huh:

I like the fact that he is deciding later. If we should pick up Clifford(I would think he would decide before Martin) then that could help us imo. Plus we tend to have early verbals and perhaps we can put more pressure on with more recruits out of the way if this pattern keeps up.

It is encouraging, but doesn't need to be read into too much...Martin is the player I want the most in 07, but I also think his recruitment will be a long one. He will be a three year college player and other schools can and will offer a quicker path to the NFL than tOSU can promise.

I read somewhere that academics are very important to Martin, and I think it said that he wants to be a teacher. If that is true than you would have to assume that he would want to graduate in order to become a teacher. His coach also sounds like he might be favoring OSU, and Ben and his coach have a good relationship together.
