'07 OH DE Ben Martin (Tennessee signee)

Ben made the Rivals.com top 10 Juniors...and is at #8...Clausen is #1...Olgeslby is #3....Devine #4.....Thompson is #5....thats all the big names....i think that CB from michigan is up there also, id have the link but im on a Mac and dont know how to use these that well.

Here's the link to that article, courtasy of Bucknut11.

Ben is the only DE listed in that top 10, which means that Rivals sees him as their #1 DE at this point in time. Things can change very quickly, though. At this point last year, we were ALL drooling about the possibilties of getting 2 QB's out of Hartline, Schlister, Kirbus, and Hakes.

Any way you slice this one though, Ben Martin is a MUST-GET prospect this year for the Buckeyes!

The thing about all the QBs was that they were the only names that had been thrown out there.

A couple of them ended up at nice schools, like Hartline(UK) and Nelson(Iowa), but they just didnt have the size to cut it here. As of right now.

As for Martin, he has size, speed, and all the things you look for in a DE. He is being talked about as the number one DE in the country so I think he is a can't miss type prospect.

I agree 110%. Especially when the other team we are up against is ND.

It really seems to depend who you ask and on what day...some days he is a slight ND lean, others a slight OSU lean. This process is going to play out for a while...

Does anyone think the other players coming to Ohio State could influence Martin's decision?

More specifically, Eugene Clifford is a stone's throw away from Martin. If we land Clifford, might that have an influence?

Bingo, this is the part that everyone is forgetting, when he sees alll these high talented kids from his own state who plays with, knows thier names and everything, and then the pressure to attend the home state school comes along it is going to be a battle.

This isnt one of them family ties things either where he has some pull to Notre Dame.

Wad is right that this is going to be a battle.
