I assume the recruit you mentioned here is Joe Apke (former center at Moeller)? I remember that he transferred to UC but I also remember that fellow Moeller O-Line recruit Joe Lukens (one year older) stayed and ended up being a four-year starter for us. It's a shame, but it seems to me that they just used Bruce's words as an excuse to stiff OSU in favor of the school they loved before and after and still love: Notre Dame.cincibuck;707834; said:Woody did OK down here in the 60s and 70s, but most of the folks still remember when Earl Bruce went off on a recruit that decided to drop out of OSU and come back home.
