I am not a psychologist....but these kids that aren't recruited heavily....and end up with offers from just a few bigger schools (i refuse to use the terms diamond-in-the-rough or under-the-radar....no offense crazybuck)....always seem to end up being the best teammates.
They have, like you said, a chip on there shoulder, and want to prove everyone they deserve to be where they are.....not only that...but they end up loving the school, the staff, and their teammates because of the opportunity they got.
I got to admit....I follow Donny Washington, Anderson Russell, Robiskie, Chimdi Chekwa, and guys like that a little more than the rest.
EDIT: I always wanted to add that I like the offer, mainly because JT got to visit with him before the offer. Those first 15 minutes with the kid can tell you an awful lot....and whether or not you want the young man on the team
