'07 AZ OL Kris O'Dowd (Southern Cal Signee)

Well thats not too encouraging, but of course he hasn't been to tOSU as of now, so there is plenty of time to make up on those grounds that lie behind USC.

EDIT: I just read the article, and I'm not worried at all anymore. Kris states that USC is only on top because he knows the most about them. Very positive for tOSU and the only negative thing Kris mentioned about Ohio was the obvious... weather. Finally he also mentioned a top 5 of USC, Ohio State, Arizona, UCLA, and Tennessee, in that order.

Quite an interesting turn of events, another update regarding Kris:

Scout $

8/9/06

By Rob Riva (Penn State)

Penn State's coaches have been in contact with Kris' coaches, and Kris made note that he is interested in Penn State. However, Penn State has not yet offered. Also mentions that he has cousins living in Pennsylvania. Mentions that most schools are recruiting him as a center or guard. He also states that he's been told he can play every position except left tackle because he's not "like 6'8"." Kris states he also enjoys playing center the most as it is the commanding spot on the line. He likes the control that a center is given. Finally he mentions he will make a decision after all 5 official visits and if Penn State offers, they will "definitley" get a visit.

My take is that Penn State will eventually eliminate Tennesse once they offer, and that this race also looks to be a lot tighter now that the closest Midwest school to his family out here has "joined" in.

I agree with you that Ohio State isn't in bad shape for his services. I think another visit to Columbus could change where he ranks the Buckeyes on his list.

EDIT: You already added the PSU story.
