'06 OH OL/DT Aaron Brown (Virginia Tech Signee)

Aaron Brown still leaning toward tOSU

Word on the streets of Cincinnati is the following :

1. OSU leads, LSU is #2 for now
2. Academics are very important to Aaron and his father in the process, and Aaron will do just fine in that department....and tOSU fits fine academically
3. Connor Smith's decision on Aug 1 will supposedly have an impact on Aaron's decision.

Personally, I would hope that Smith being a Buckeye would mean that Aaron would want to join him and form dominant bookend OTs that we haven't seen in Columbus since Orlando Pace and Korey Stringer. Smith and Brown will maximize their potential with the competition at Ohio State, and after they are done, they will both be revered as native Buckeyes in the Ohio business world. Aaron's potential in life after football will be amplified in Columbus, regardless of his performance on the field. The same could not be said of Baton Rouge or Gainesville.

Come on up to the Buckeye family, Aaron and George!

Go Bucks!

Ballard is the only O-lineman/TE/DE/DT in this class and he may not end up as a O-lineman. My Impression was that C.Smith would end up as a guard. Why would A. Brown base his decision on Smith?

I agree that Smith could play either G ot OT. I certainly don't think that Smith commiting to tOSU should be a negative in Brown's recruitment. However, I got the vibe that it isn't felt to be a positive factor either.

Boone, Smith, Cordle, Person/Mitchum, Brown.....kind of imposing, huh?

Go Bucks!

Don't forget about Barton, Rehring, and Skinner....

Datish, Downing and......Uh......Blitzen.......but do you knowwwwww..... the most famous lineman of them alllllllll...............Tyson Walter the bloody nosed left tackle......had a very very glass jaw.......and if you ever saw him......

You gotta love the Oline depth we finally have these days. Brown and Boone could be our bookend tackles.

If Smith's decision plays a negative affect on Brown's recruitment, then I wonder where he could go to avoid competition. With the school's he is looking at and that have offered him to come play, he is going to have to beat somebody out of a spot to see the field. It's not like OSU has all the depth in the world and every other powerhouse needs 5 linemen to have a squad. I would hope that CS coming to OSU would warrant major points with Brown, and he could then follow suit, and come to campus as part of a great recruiting haul with something to prove. If CS went elsewhere, maybe he saw something AB did not, and then it would be bad for OSU with both of them. However, the vibe I get from this board is that CS is a future Buckeye, so if that means Brown is gone, then I'll just be happy as hell that we got Smith. Come on, AB, you were born to pancake scUM in the 'Shoe!!!

After all the dust settles Brown picks OSU. His father obviously favors us and he has a big hand in Aarons recruitment. He wants to see the other schools but I don't see any reason he would end up playing anywhere but the shoe.

RUMOR: Aaron Brown rumors (Merged all)

just talked to Chris Pool from scout.com about a bunch of stuff regarding Aaron Brown. he and Bob Licthenfels both feel that Aaron will pull a "surprise" with his decision. Chris said that his "run-in" with George Brown had nothing to do with Aaron being ranked low. He also said that the reason they had a problem in the first place was because George got mad about Chris printing his quote about making tOSU work hard for his committment. they haven't spoken since, but Chris didn't think there were still hard feelings. so any info they have are from outside sources, as they haven't had any contact with the Brown's since Pool doesn't want to deal with "overzealous parents".
who knows what to make of this, but it seems that Mr. Brown is being much more forthwith with Rivals and other media outlets. just passing on what Chris told me... can't say that i agree with him though. lets just hope that Aaron is wearing the Scarlet & Gray in the end.
edit: forgot to add that Chris said that he has some insight about Aaron's recruitment that he obtained from Connor Smith's dad. he told me that he wouldn't be at liberty to tell me what it was until after signing day though. so i'm not sure what that means, just thought i'd throw it out there.
