'06 OH OL/DT Aaron Brown (Virginia Tech Signee)

It would have made a world of difference.

What would have made a world of difference? What wasn't done that could have been? The comments about 'red carpet treatment' is to general.
The coaches clearly had to focus on the game. Did they not spend time after the game?
I can't imagine anyone expecting much attention just prior to the game.
I'll admit it, I don't get it. The point about the coaches cooling on him makes sence.

All of the other programs have demonstrated and communicated in various ways more significantly, Aaron's importance to their immediate and future plans. Apparently more so than tOSU.

This is not the end of the world...sure he was one of the big three that we were with right from the start...but he chose to go elsewhere so that is his loss...we will be fine and now we can work on one of those other guys...however i highly doubt that we cooled on him like some are saying...the only reason I could think that we would cool on him would be because he stopped showing interest not us...he is too big and too good for us to just "cool" on him...but then again that's just my opinion

In this case, upside potential may have been outweighed by on-field performance...take it fwiw.

I agree, but no recruit should be bigger than the program... I always liked Woody's approach, promise them only an opportunity...What they did with it was up to the athlete..There is only thousands of good HS linemen that would kill to come to OSU..Attitude is as important as talent See what AJ Hawk, Krenzel, et. al did with an opportunity. They weren't five star recruits either.

interesting comment. duane long insists that the osu staff tried to get brown to reschedule his official visit for another time so they could make his trip better and the brown's refused. if true, it would seem to me that their intentions were to be the belle of the ball among recruits that evening and it didn't work out that way. this whole thing sure has gone 180 degrees from george brown stating that osu is where they wanted to be. oh well. auction your kid off to the school that fawns over him the most.
