Congrats!! There is some good advice in here.
This will be the best 4 (or 5 years of your life) :) I have only a little less than a year left and I can't imagine not being here anymore.
check out this thread (get past the first page) and it has a lot of good info about osu and around town...
I was at the 'shoe at 9:45 this morning, ensuring a front row spot for myself. I can't speak for everyone, but I'll say that noon games don't bode well for kids who are out late on friday nights. I wish all games were 3 o clock.
the thing is..as a student in Block O, we can only do so much. The two ends of the stadium will get loud, but it takes a miracle for anyone on the sides of the shoe to give anything but a golf clap. You're not at a football game to drink tea and eat cookies. Start cheering and stand up. Help us out.
Does anyone know how many students the south stands hold? The block O section holds 1100-1200. There are 30k student tickets, so i'm not sure they would all fit in the south stands.
Block O has revamped their website and it looks so good. It has photos from the first 'general' meeting in the stadium and shows the very first card stunt.

The block will be in the north and south ends. The south ends will continue with card stunts and starting cheers and the north...
One quick note that I thought was really cool..
Block O took one full bus to the michigan game and on our way back, our original time to get home was 9pm. We unfortunately got stuck in michigan in traffic for about 3 hours and didn't get back to the 'Shoe till past midnight..When we pulled up...
yeah..I've now seen the writing that says they are cross-checking but I guess what I don't get is why they didn't cross check before they selected the lotto winners..because now what do they do? have another lotto for those very few people who got both? It would be amazing if the winners could...
wow..that..blows.
Can they forward the ticket on to another person specifically or what will happen? So when these students go to pick up their ticket, they will be denied? Why didn't they crosscheck BEFORE they gave the ticket to them? It just doesn't make sense to me. :(
So I heard a rumor and was wondering if any of you had heard the same..
I heard that if you bought a bowl tour and THEN won a ticket in the student lottery, you cannot have both.
Now, I can see why they would do this but..why would they have picked the person in the first place (they bought...
I honestly can't wait to get back down there. I am in Pensacola right now for break..but I know how the re-building effort goes as far as hurricanes.
I love OSU to death but the only thing I really miss from back home is the southern culture..and when I think of that I think of new orleans and...
I have, I have!
I was pretty much born and raised in Pensacola, Florida (till I came to OSU) and thats only about 2.5 hours from New Orleans..we used to go on day trips all the time and for whole weekends..its practically old stomping grounds. I have a lot of friends with family there too (and...
I suppose I could introduce myself..
I'm Casey..born in Ohio but raised in NW Florida (Pensacola), which is also SEC country (I almost went to Auburn..)..I kind of chose Ohio State on a whim after I visited my dad who still lives in Toledo and I fell in love with it. It was a combo of wanting...
