It will be good to have the students back in The Shoe. One thing I HATE about the students though, is that they show up so damn late. At kickoff, you can tell where teh student sections are, because they are the only seats that have open seats left. They need to get rid of student ticket seat locations, and just give it the good old first come first serve as far as all students are concerned. If your ticket says student, you sit anywhere that is student sections. It would mean a much more exciting student group. Seriously though...when the team takes the field before the game, sometimes it seems maybe 5,000-10,000 students are still missing. You have one of the most exciting football teams in the country year in and year out at one of the best stadiums ever. Act like it.

Agreed. But at least when they come late, they're drunk, resulting in noise.

I wish that Ohio State revamped their entire seating arrangement to look something like Penn State's. They designate just a big chunk of the stadium for their students and put them ALL in that area. At Ohio State, it is a crap shoot. Everyone is spread out. Why not give the students the ENTIRE south stands and just divee up the seats by Seniority? Or they could give the students the seats from like the 30 to half the endzone in the North side. Just a thought but I think that with all the alumni living here in C bus, the campus feels a lot of pressure to make everybody happy, instead of trying to make the stadium the loudest and best atmosphere for football.

Does anyone know how many students the south stands hold? The block O section holds 1100-1200. There are 30k student tickets, so i'm not sure they would all fit in the south stands.

I believe this is what they did this year. Created 2 large student sections, the entire south stands and then behind the north endzone also.

Yes, because they have noise problems at places like Madison and Happy Valley.
And every one of those students are stone cold sober at the game...

Actually, I'd give the students the first 20 rows in the west side of the stadium, right behind the visitor's bench. From Goalline to Goalline
I think you're onto something...

News Room - The Ohio State University
In addition, new student-only seating in the south stands will complement the current student section at the north end of the stadium to create an energizing atmosphere behind each end zone.

"Ohio State provides more student tickets for football than any other school in the nation (30,000), so we would like to capitalize on this enthusiasm and create an intimidating atmosphere for the visiting team regardless of which direction they are heading at any point in a game," said Bill Jones, assistant athletics director for ticketing with the Ohio State Athletics Department.

With this change, the entire south stands will be student seating in addition to those in the north/northwest sections of the stadium. This will create two continuous student sections in either end of the stadium. The Department of Athletics has also started discussions with student leaders to create a second "Block O" section for students in the north end zone to allow for coordination of cheers and activities between the two student sections.

That is gonna be awesome. Could create an atmosphere unlike any school in the country.

There is definitely going to be a Block O North. I've got a few friends who will be sitting in it.

Well, I've gotta say, I hope that article is true (nothing but students in the south stands), but I suppose that might explain the supremely crappy seats I got lol (32B).

32b thats the south stands...

Ya, I just mean I expected to have better seats in the south stands until I found out all the students would be there. I'm sure some students with more seniority who would have maybe been down on the 5-10 yard line now just have better seats in the south stands, pushing me further off to the side.

But whatever, I just found a picture from the section and its not too bad. It just sucks because I won't be able to see the big screen at all for replays.
