WR Brian Robiskie (Official Thread)

Agreed. If a player is physically and mentally unable to perform, it's time to give someone else a shot. However, if you take Robo off the field, then both the captains would be on the sidelines. Think about that for a minute.
I'm more concerned about having people who can make plays than about who is or isn't captain being on the field. If he can't lift his right arm to make a catch then he shouldn't be on the field, but judging from his TD and even the 3rd down play that got called back he didn't seem to have any problems getting his arms up there so I think it was just a poor effort on that particular play.

What do you think of a possible SI cover jinx? LOL Now 2 of our cover Bucks are on the sideline. But hopefully Beanie will be back this season.

That's it, next time the bucks are on a cover, send three walk-on freshmen with no chance to play this year.

Ohio State's Brian Robiskie hauls in a 38-yard touchdown pass from freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor as Troy's Jorrick Calvin defends.

A couple of veteran receivers were playing full time for the first time with a freshman quarterback, and for a moment yesterday, the potential hook-ups looked a little shaky. Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor stepped up from his 11-yard line late in the first quarter and threw a rainbow toward senior Brian Robiskie, running open at midfield. With OSU up 7-0, the play had the potential to put Troy in a two-touchdown hole in a difficult road environment.
But when the ball arrived, Robiskie reached out with only his left hand in what looked like a half-hearted effort as the ball fell away. In was, Robiskie indicated, a matter of a new quarterback and an older receiver getting to know each other in a game situation.
"He put a little more on it than I thought he was going to," Robiskie said. "Before I knew it, I just had to put my hand up."
Asked what Robiskie said to him after the play, Pryor smiled. "He said, 'Great throw.' "
Robiskie said he knew Pryor was dealing with the pressure that comes with being a first-time starting quarterback. But in the final analysis, Pryor showed that he knew where to look for the big play.
Junior receiver Brian Hartline caught two touchdown passes, senior tight end Rory Nicol caught one and Robiskie made up for his gaffe by fighting off a defender to haul in a 38-yarder in the end zone in the third quarter.

Robo was clutch today. Came through with a sick grab for the one TD, where he reached around the defender and scooped it. Nice to see him return to form.

Bad camera work, but this one...:p

BIG DAY FOR 'ROBO': Tressel talked during the week about using more wide receivers to keep starters Brian Hartline and Brian Robiskie fresh, especially because they're also used on special teams. But things didn't really look that different in terms of playing time.

In fact, Robiskie had his best game of the year, catching eight passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns.
"I think the biggest thing (Tressel) was telling us is how fresh he wanted us to be and how fast he wanted us to play throughout the game," Robiskie said. "I thought we did a pretty good job of keeping the rotation of guys out there."

Great pics JWins, if it wasn't for the lack of gooey slime on the ball and his gloves, I'd have sworn he had used some of the Raiders infamous "Stick-em" in order to hold onto the ball.

Great effort by Robo, we'll need more of that in the weeks to come as TP's growth continues.

I don't know if they showed it on TV, but during the timeout right before Robo's long TD, Block O had made an 80 with signs. The very next play, he scored on the TD. Somebody's stealing JT's plays! They tried to warn Minny, but it did not matter.

Right after we did the card stunt and he caught it, we were so excited! We did end up doing it again too, just for good measure.

OSU football: After slow start, Brian Robiske finds end zone again

By JON SPENCER ? News Journal ? September 30, 2008

COLUMBUS -- Cancel the milk carton campaign. Brian Robiskie has been found, not far from where he went missing -- the Ohio Stadium end zone.

Ohio State's senior captain had eight catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 34-21 win over Minnesota, after totaling just 12 receptions through the first four games.
His slump, combined with a toe injury that sidelined tailback Chris "Beanie" Wells for three weeks, underscored a general malaise on offense that triggered a move to freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor.
With Wells back in the lineup last week to augment the dual threat Pryor presents, the Buckeyes are closer to resembling the potent attack everyone expected from a unit that returned nine starters.
Wells rumbled for 106 yards and Pryor gained 105 on six carries (not counting two sacks), which in turn opened up the passing lanes. Together, Pryor and Boeckman -- who got in for two series -- threw for only 135 yards, but Robiskie's re-emergence was encouraging.
"I can't tell you how many times I turned around and saw Terrelle running down the sideline and Beanie running down the sideline," Robiskie said. "Then we come back with a similar look and we change up by throwing the ball. It makes it hard on a defense."
After catching a 31-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter of the opener, Robiskie went 13 quarters without crossing the goal line again.
Most memorable during his dry spell was what, at first blush, looked like a half-hearted, one-handed stab at a bullet over the middle from Pryor against Troy. Had Robiskie caught that ball, it likely would have turned into an 89-yard touchdown.
Instead, Robiskie caught flak, at least under Buckeye Nation's collective breath. Whether criticism was warranted is open to debate because Robiskie refused to use a nagging right shoulder injury as an alibi.
