The Giants were going to take a RB here but adding Droughns took care of that. OL can probably wait until the 3rd so with the 19th pick in the 2nd round, the Giants select Eric Weddle, S Utah.
The Giants released 2 LB's and 2 OL's so it's a tough pick here. I think there will be several solid tackle's later on so the Giants select Paul Posluszny LB, PSU.
If you're starting a team you're looking at a good 3 to 4 to be playoff ready which eliminates some of the obvious.
A great QB is a must so I'd say Carson Palmer on offense. On D it's Lofa Tatupu because of age and what he's done so far.
Don't blame the NFL...blame our robust legal system. Even though it's a church, I'm sure if they allow it someone will find a loop hole to make money off of it in the future which the NFL is trying to protect here.
This argument could go in a several different directions but let me throw out a few questions.
Should a one dimensional player go in the Hall of Fame?
If you answer yes, my follow up questions are does it matter that the one dimension was possibly helped through an outside substance?
If...
Mike Tyson arrested in Arizona on DUI, drug charges
The article doesn't surprise me in the least but this quote did:

I guess since we own Arizona they decided to name a police department after us.
I don't know about this statement. He was a pretty injury prone guy accept for the 50+ plus run. If anything, I think the roids probably kept him healthy enough to have those big years that got him his Hall credentials.
You've got a good point on the connection. I still think steroids would have a larger effect on the record books than gambling though. I doubt many players were making big money on throwing a regular season game in June against a last place team whereas anyone on roids is having a 3 homer game...
He can't make the hall...he missed the cut last year so he's off the ballot forever.
Throwing games was detrimental to the game back in the 20's, 30's 40's etc...but now every scrub is pulling down 500K a year. If you're throwing a game b/c you can't get by on that type of scratch then you...
Good call on McGriff...steady producer who's about as clean as you can get in that era. He's gonna get the shaft come Hall time because he didn't shoot up. Granted he wasn't dominant like most hall of famers but he may have looked more dominant if he was playing the same game as everyone else.
Will Clark didn't make the cut last year so he's off the ballot. I doubt Mattingly will at this rate...maybe with the Vet's committee in 10 years. I don't think he's cracked 60% has he?
I agree..the entire Hall of Fame process is one big mess. I'd put Pete Rose in the hall in two seconds...
I think Will Clark (to late now) and Don Mattingly should go in over McGwire and Palmeiro. No steroids...great numbers..class acts....
With steroids I struggle to put either Mac or Palmeiro in the hall...with out steroids I don't think either is even close.
How about if you just want a small section of an article highlighted? Would this work?
"Ginn, Gonzalez, Pittman, Barton could leave early"

On a side note...I wonder who's miserable. I'll take it to another thread. Thanks
