That class didn't have a chance though. Besides almost all of them constantly being injured, they were sandwiched between 2 amazing WR classes in 2021(Egbuka and MHjr) and 2023(Tate, Inniss and Rodgers). And then on top of that, if any of them had even stayed until their 3rd years, they would have to compete against one of the greatest HS WRs ever in JJ Smith in 2024 along with Mylan Graham. That was a throwaway class.

Famed competitive eater Joey "Jaws" Chestnut reclaimed his title Friday at the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July hot dog eating contest after after skipping last year's gastronomic battle in New York for the coveted Mustard Belt.

Chestnut, 41, consumed 70½ hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, falling short of his record of 76 wieners and buns set on July 4, 2021. It marked the 17th win in 20 appearances for the Westfield, Indiana, eater at the internationally televised competition, which he missed in 2024 over a contract dispute.

Defending champion in the women's division, Miki Sudo of Tampa, Florida, won her 11th title, downing 33 dogs, besting a dozen competitors. Last year, she ate a record 51.

Was recently watching 02 and 03 season games, and while Krenzel was a lot of great things, accurate and consistent passer was not among them.

Always thought Jenkins shoud’ve had a better career, but he ended up with more career yards than I remember and played for 9 years.

That 1998 secondary was so good, freshman Nate Clements was the nickel back.

IIRC he went on to be the highest paid NFL defensive player of all time at one point wit the 49ers ?(long since broken).

That's what makes the BS narrative that Day "bought" this team so laughable. He had to make a complete team, and no amount of money thrown at players is going to create a team at this level. That might work in the NFL(might), but grown men who are professionals don't have to worry about classes, fans on campus, etc. And OSU didn't have the jealousy or contract issues that you heard about at other schools, and the best example is OSU being the only team not to lose a major contributor, or someone who could be starting next year to the Portal.

If we can keep up this quality of roster retention, and I think we will, that will keep us a contender every season in its own right. I know some people want to talk down on the portal and claim "we can't rely on it" but we have shown we can and will use the portal well to fill slots that are needed, and that will continue as well. In the end can you really rely on a HS kid who has never set foot on a college field either? I know you can't force players to enter the portal but there is always going to be decent players there for the taking.
