Michigan and Nebraska are two other Big Ten schools vying for the Kentucky all-purpose back.
Another day in the offseason, and another day the Ohio State Buckeyes went out on the recruiting trail to send out offers. Coaches have been zigzagging across the country to scout talent in hopes of finding the next great member of the Scarlet and Gray.
There’s still 100 days left until the Buckeyes kickoff the 2018 football season, which means there is still a lot of recruiting left to do. But for now, let’s look at one of the latest offer that went out.
The Bluegrass (all-purpose) back
It didn’t take long on Wednesday for news of an OSU offer to break on Twitter. Just after 9 a.m. ET, all-purpose back Wandale Robinson (Frankfort, KY / Western Hills) announced that he was the latest recipient of an offer from the Buckeyes.
Extremely blessed to receive an offer from THE Ohio State University! #GoBuckeyes ️ pic.twitter.com/xb8UDgOI53

Right now, Robinson only grades out on the 247sports composite as a three-star recruit. However, he has a slew of offers from top programs. The likes of Michigan and Nebraska have already sent out their offers, as have other Big Ten programs Indiana, Northwestern and Purdue. Additionally, nearby schools Louisville and Kentucky have already made it known that they want Robinson to be part of their program.
Even though the Buckeyes just sent out their offer to the APB, they are already perceived to be in the hunt for a Robinson commitment. According to the 247sports Crystal Ball, there are only seven predictions in for Robinson, but the two latest—both coming on May 23—have him pegged for Ohio State. Two other predictions have in-state program Kentucky being the pick for Robinson, while three have the Duke Blue Devils being the endgame for the 5-foot-9.5 star from Frankfort.
On his profile page at 247sports, his stats prove his ability to be a legit APB. In his three seasons on the prep circuit, Robinson has taken 404 rushing attempts and picked up 4,822 yards in the process. Of those 404 attempts, he’s found the end zone 67 times. On the receiving end, he’s caught 71 passes for 1,062 yards and 10 touchdowns. While he is graded in the 247sports composite as the 783rd best prospect in the ‘19 class, he’s the ninth best APB and the 10th best product in the Bluegrass State.
Ohio State already has commitments from four-star Sampson James and athlete Steele Chambers for the 2019 cycle. But, as recent history has shown, the Buckeye backfield has been constantly stacked during the Urban Meyer era.
You can never go wrong with having too many running backs.
Hmmm...
With graduation season taking place, some are preparing for the next milestone in life. For those on the football circuit, a leap to the big-time program could be on the horizon.
Sevyn Banks, part of the Buckeyes’ 2018 recruiting class, is already getting acclimated to life in Columbus. But, according to Ryan Donnelly of Landof10, he went back to his native Orlando for high school graduation—but that’s not the interesting part.
Ohio State cornerback Sevyn Banks has been on campus since January, but he returned home to Orlando for graduation. Rocked some pretty cool stitching on the robe too.
2019 LB Marcus Tillman Jr, an Ohio State target, poses for the O-H with him here. https://t.co/JLpOxMv4Uo

Outside linebacker and 2019 prospect Marcus Tillman Jr. (Orlando, FL / Jones) was at the graduation, too, and helped with the O-H.
It’s cool to support a friend, but if you’re a Florida Gator supporter, you may start to sweat after seeing the hashtags on Tillman’s tweet. Ohio State and (presumably) Clemson were alluded, and not the Gators; both the Buckeyes and Tigers are in the running to get Tillman’s commitment—and both have already sent out offers to him. With him taking part in the ‘O-H’, things might be trending upward for Ohio State to get this recruit in their 2019 class.
Even though it’s just a tweet, the Buckeyes might’ve gained some ground. Currently, the 247sports Crystal Ball has all four predictions in for Tillman pointing to the Florida Gators. There is still plenty of time before National Signing Day, and the Buckeyes still have time to get the 6-foot-1 OLB to Columbus for an official visit.
