Game Thread Iowa at tOSU, Sat. Oct. 5, 3:30pm ET, CBS

I understand your point but this isn't hockey. If we want real valuable reps sub them in intermingled with starters so they get a look where they would be in case they are needed in a crucial point.

I'm not sure I'd ever sub all my starters out until the opponent did. I hate garbage time with scrubs vs starters
This^ And it's not college football as we once knew it either. Players need to be rotated so that we don't find ourselves with an inexperienced team going in to the final games of the season and national championship run. Fine, put in the subs when you're up 30 points in the final quarter but get them game experience with the starting unit too.

2025 FL WR Joshua Moore (Miami, Fla. Signee)

Thought the Miami zillionaire had been indicted by Grand Jury or something. Recollect his 'recruiting' cruises on his mega-yacht with booze, cheerleaders and wide-eyed 17 year olds. Now he can just hand out bags of money. Anyway, it doesn't take much to connect the dots on this one. Florida struggling, and Miami sitting there with bags of cash. Why not?
Also hometown. I’m not saying NIL isn’t a part of it, but we can’t forget kids like playing near home a lot of the time. Pembroke Pines is a nice town only about 30 minutes from the university.

CB Lejond Cavazos (transfer to North Carolina, transfer to Mich. St.)

Always go back to the adage that college is supposed to prepare students to make a living. Doesn't say as a teacher/accountant or football player. Just so happens that football player pays more (upfront, not over a lifetime) than the other professions. As to the coaches v players, a coach has many more years to make a living, whereas, as college football player has about five years to make themselves into someone who "gets a chance" to earn a living in the pros. What, maybe a five year job, before an injury or someone better comes along? Would imagine that these kids earning NIL money piss it away very quickly, instead of setting up investment accounts etc for the future. Whereas a coach is 'climbing the corporate ladder', and moving on up (usually), as part of his working journey. Don't understand the NFL guy that said, "he will cost us less"? Heck, if the kid gets a taste of big money ($1 million to me is big), he won't be satisfied with only a couple mill more, would he? My expectations would be much higher.....Sooooo, back to Lejon, or any other xfer guy. His shelf life is limited. Sitting behind someone for two years cuts his time down. And playing in a top program means that they could always bring in someone younger and more talented. I'd go somewhere where I could get on the field, and hopefully make a difference. Pro scouts will always find talent, wherever it may be. Finally, look at tOSU's QB room. With the talent coming up, I'd bet that three of the current Qbs will hit the transfer portal, but not before being given training by a couple of the best - Day and now Chip. That's worth a bunch in terms of leveraging that into a roll at another university.

Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti: ‘Positive Feelings’ Around NCAA Tournament Expansion

Adding regular-season interest in the sport with league tournaments and more games against SEC opponents was also discussed.

Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti dished on NCAA tournament expansion and new ways of driving interest in regular-season college basketball during the league’s men’s basketball media day Thursday.

Petitti said there’s “positive feelings towards [NCAA tournament] expansion” throughout his league, joining a chorus of college sports leaders who’ve urged growing the event beyond 68 teams. SEC commissioner Greg Sankey has discussed expansion for more than two years, while fellow power-conference commissioners Jim Phillips of the ACC and Brett Yormark of the Big 12 have also floated adding to the field.

The Big Ten’s boss, midway through his second year with the league, was light on specifics for a plan, saying he’d want to see details on seeding and how the first two days of the tournament would look. But Petitti did say Thursday that the league has had “a lot of conversations” with NCAA staff, including president Charlie Baker and SVP for basketball Dan Gavitt.
