I don't mean to slander someone who could quite clearly snap me in half like a Ticonderoga pencil – so bear with me here – but I had no idea how Dylan Thompson remained on Ohio State's roster for as long as he did.

I mean, Urban Meyer actually told the media that he needed to "Do something. And underline that. Do something" four months before he was ruled academically ineligible. At the time, I assumed that would be all she wrote, but he stuck around for more than a year after that.

Maybe this is why, because I'd have no problem keeping him around just to teach my team how to lift by example. As long as he shows up every day and does that to set the tone, we're all good.

I really liked their PBS show that ran back in the late 70s/early 80s. Both were "movie critics" who worked for rival newspapers in Chicago. I remember that on one show they said it was "Siskel & Ebert" in lieu of "Eibert & Siskel" since Siskel won the coin toss. As part of their review for each movie each guy would give it either a "thumbs up" or a "thumbs down".

I haven't thought about Long Beach State since Casper Ware and the 2012 Long Beach State 49ers broke my heart in the NCAA Tournament.

A great reminder of their existence comes via Britney Amber, who wants all the freshman throughout LBSU to rush Pi Kappa Alpha. Talk about a great recruiting tactic. To be honest, if I was a low tier college football coach, I'd start having Britney Amber record these videos for recruits. There definitely isn't a rule againt that yet in the NCAA rule book. No way they've accounted for shoutouts from porn stars.

This was a masterful job of acting by Britney, which I'm not surprised by in the slightest of course. The way she nails "Brother Christian?" Perfect. I'll never not laugh that fraternity members call each other brothers. Not in a disrespect to them, but more in the ridiculousness of it. I wish I could call my friends from college "brother ____."

MEN'S BASKETBALL: KALEB WESSON, REBOUNDING PROPEL OHIO STATE PAST INDIANA 68-59



Desperate for a victory to keep some hold of forward momentum after beating Northwestern one week prior, Ohio State got away and played keep away from Indiana Saturday.

Junior forward Kaleb Wesson and a healthy dose of rebounding led the Buckeyes (14-7, 4-6 Big Ten) to a 68-59 victory over Indiana (15-6, 5-6) at the Schottenstein Center.

“Players win games, and I thought we had great leadership,” Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann said. “In particular between Kaleb and CJ Walker on both ends. Great win for our group.”

Kaleb Wesson returned to his team-best scoring, team-best rebounding form against the Hoosiers, piling up 15 points on 7-for-12 shooting with 11 boards.

“I thought Kaleb Wesson was terrific on both ends,” Holtmann said. “It’s his work, he’s gotta continue to stay in great shape. I thought he created some real opportunities for other guys. I thought he protected the rim pretty well.”

His impact was felt most in the second half, a period that opened with a nine-point Ohio State lead. A 3-pointer by Indiana redshirt freshman forward Jerome Hunter sliced the advantage to 40-32, but the Ohio native responded with a 3-pointer of his own.

When the Hoosiers answered back with a layup, Kaleb Wesson hit another shot to cap a run in which he scored nine of the Buckeyes’ 11 points.

“Our coaches are putting me in spots to get the ball and get my shots off. My teammates are finding me,” Wesson said. “I feel like that contributes to my work, and my teammates believe in me, and I hit them.”

Ohio State sophomore forward Justin Ahrens came off the bench to hit back-to-back 3s, and at 58-40 with 7:59 to play, the game’s conclusion was long forgone.

Behind Kaleb Wesson, Ahrens and redshirt junior guard CJ Walker both tallied double figures in the scoring column for Ohio State. Sophomore guard Rob Phinisee led the way for Indiana with 11.

For all the concerns Holtmann aired on the matter during his press conference Thursday, the Buckeyes outrebounded the Hoosiers 31-24 Saturday.

Indiana failed to muster second-chance looks until it was too far behind to matter, failing to secure its first offensive rebound until 1:33 remained in the first half.

Its next didn’t come until 6:18 remained in the second.

“They imposed their will physically on the boards,” Indiana head coach Archie Miller said. “That was the difference in the game, especially early. We could not rebound the ball, it’s the first time all season long that I can really recall our team just getting housed on the glass like that.”

I enjoy seeing the Pro comparisons that 247 does. However, they rank a guy who they give a PRO comparison to Jamarcus Russell higher than guys like Julio Jones, Ndamukong Suh, and Richard Sherman?

NCAA names finalists for 2025 and 2026 Women’s Final Four host cities
Columbus, Phoenix, Portland and Tampa chosen

Four cities with a blend of NCAA championship host experience have been chosen as finalists to be considered as future hosts for the NCAA Women’s Final Four in 2025 and 2026.

The NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee identified four cities that will be under consideration to host during those two years. Those cities and venues are Columbus, Ohio (Nationwide Arena); Phoenix (Talking Stick Resort Arena); Portland, Oregon (Moda Center); and Tampa, Florida (Amalie Arena).

“The number and quality of potential host cities for the Women’s Final Four continues to grow,” said Diane Turnham, chair of the Division I Women’s Basketball Committee and senior associate athletics director at Middle Tennessee. “The Women’s Final Four selection process continues to be successful in identifying those cities that will raise the bar for one of America’s premier sporting events and the world’s women’s basketball events.”

Finalist cities must submit final bids by April 13. NCAA committee and staff will conduct site visits from June through August, with finalist cities delivering final in-person presentations to members of the committee Sept. 23-25. Formal recommendations and final approval of the 2025 and 2026 Women’s Final Four sites will take place in October.

Columbus (2018) and Tampa (2008, 2015 and 2019) previously have hosted the Women’s Final Four. Phoenix and Portland are vying to host for the first time.

I was a fan of Ubiquitis USGs until they started phoning home with network telemetry data. I switched to a VM of pfSense and haven’t looked back. Only downside it much less user friend setup than say USG or Meraki.
