This is quite literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my entire life. And I'm genuinely shocked to hear it from Draymond Green. Say what you want about the guy, with how he's a hot head or how he takes cheap shots or how he whines too much, but I thought the general consensus was that he was pretty intelligent for an NBA player. But to hear him utter these words that the NBA / the system is NOT SET UP FOR US TO BE WEALTHY AFTER WE'RE DONE PLAYING???? I had to go all-caps on that one. Draymond you are making TWENTY FOUR FUCKING MILLION DOLLARS THIS YEAR to play basketball. You are on a 4-year, $100,000,000 deal. You have career earning, on the court alone, of $178 million that will turn to $255 million once your contract ends. Buddy, if you gave me literally $2 million right now, I would never ever work again. And you think the NBA, in which Jordan Poole is making $30 mil a year and Zach Levine is making $45 mil a year, isn't set up for you to be wealthy after your playing days end....? Michael fucking Jordan made less in his ENTIRE CAREER on the court than you'll make in 4 years, but you don't think it's a fair system?

Fun idea for the off-season. I'll play.
5 plays since the 2014 season.
#1 for me is easily 85 yards through the heart of the south. It didn't put Alabama away, but it certainly convinced me that Ohio State was going to win.
#2 is JT Barrett converting on 4th down against the cheaters in 2016. The post above says that Curtis Samuel's run on the next play was THE play, but Ohio State was scoring on that drive, regardless. Once Barrett converted on that play, it was just a matter of which play Ohio State would win on.
I'll say that #3 is the game-winner over Penn State in 2017 - Barrett to Baugh. Honorable mention to the defense for stopping Penn State to a field goal inside the 10 and then forcing a 3-and-out their next try.
And #4 is the game-winner over Penn State in 2018 - not Haskins to KJ Hill, but Chase Young tackling Miles Sanders. Why the hell did they take the ball out of McSorley's hands? Because McSorley's a chump.
#5 I'd have to say was the win over Clemson, but I don't know that there's a definitive play in that game. Maybe the bomb to Olave, like he mentioned. But I might go with the interception on the last play of the game. Barbie's last collegiate throw was intercepted. Nice.

I couldn't find Doug Worthington's thread, so I decided to use this thread. I saw his gold pants from the 2008 game on Pawn Stars today. The customer had two pairs - one of Worthington's and another from an obscure player. He got $1,000 for each pair.

Following his departure from Ohio State, it is unclear where Jordan will land next. Six years after he started coaching in 2012, Jordan founded Brandon Jordan Trench Performance in 2018. Through his company, Jordan has worked with over 200 NFL players, including Cameron Heyward, T.J. Watt, Von Miller, Chandler Jones and Jadeveon Clowney, among others.

Ohio State will still have an assistant defensive line coach on staff to work alongside Larry Johnson in graduate assistant LaAllan Clark, who is entering his second year with the Buckeyes.

Glen 'Big Baby' Davis sentenced to 40 months in prison over fraud scheme​

Former NBA forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis was sentenced by a federal judge Thursday to 40 months in prison, plus three years' supervised release, for his November 2023 conviction in an alleged scheme to defraud the league's health care benefits plan.

Twenty-two people -- 18 of them former players, including Terrence Williams and Keyon Dooling -- have been sentenced in the case for filing false medical claims with the NBA Players' Health and Benefit Welfare Plan.

Davis, 38, who has maintained his innocence since indictments in the case were handed down in October 2021, was found guilty of multiple fraud charges and conspiring to make false statements. He was ordered to pay $80,000 in restitution. The conditions of his supervised release include attending a financial management class and receiving mandatory drug treatment.

Williams, the supposed ringleader of what the Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney's Office has described as a "wide-ranging scheme to steal millions of dollars," was sentenced to 10 years last August.

But aside from Williams, no former NBA player has received more prison time than Davis. Last month, former NBA guard Will Bynum, who was convicted alongside Davis in November, was sentenced to 18 months, in part for lying to a jury while under oath.

These 2020 Ohio State football recruits are trying to make one last impact​

For members of the Ohio State football team's 2020recruiting class, this is their last chance to make an impact.

That's particularly true for some of the guys who will see significant playing time. Lathan Ransom is one of those guys. He could have left after last season to go to the NFL. He would have been drafted and he could've started playing professionally. Instead, he decided to come back to try to be a first-round draft pick and to win a national title.

Ransom has been impactful when he's been healthy. He has 146 tackles over the past three years. He's going to be a starter for the Buckeyes again this season and is going to be one of the most impactful players on a defense that is going to be elite.

Cody Simon is someone who is in line to start next season. This would be his best chance to be a starter and it looks like he will be based on the Spring Game. He's gotten a lot of playing time so far but hasn't made too much of a winning impact. Simon wants to change that this season.

Josh Fryar is the guy with the most to prove. The offensive line was not good at all last year. It was a problem that plagued them all year, especially in the run game. Fryar played poorly in the biggest game of the year. It looks like he's going to start at right tackle again. The Buckeyes are counting on him to improve.

All of these guys have a lot to prove. If they can all play to their capabilities, they will finally have the college resume that they all wanted.

Commissioner: WNBA to begin full-time charter flights​

The WNBA plans to commit $50 million over the next two years to provide full-time charter flight service for its teams during the season, the league's commissioner announced Tuesday in a move that addresses years of player safety concerns.

"We intend to fund a full-time charter for this season," commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a meeting with sports editors.

She said the league will launch the program "as soon as we can get planes in places."

Engelbert said the program will cost the league around $25 million per year for the next two seasons.

WNBA teams also have been moving games against Clark and Indiana to bigger arenas because of increased demand.

Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier said flying via charter planes is a safety issue as the names, stars and fans grow. She noted video showing Clark having bodyguards surrounding her at the airport and security personnel trying to protect Brittney Griner last year while traveling.

"All these players and these faces are becoming so popular that it really is about that as much as it as about recovery," Collier said.

Flights have been an issue for the WNBA that only increased last year with the league working with Griner and the Phoenix Mercury. They had to travel via commercial air, and the All-Star center who had been detained in Russia for nearly 10 months was harassed by what the WNBA called a "provocateur."

The league hadn't allowed teams to use charter flights except for when they have back-to-back games.

That forced players like Breanna Stewart, the 6-foot-4 forward for the New York Liberty, to squeeze past fellow travelers on commercial flights to fit into her assigned window seat. WNBA players also had to not only retrieve their own luggage but endure travel days that could stretch 13 hours with delays.

These college football stars highlight a loaded 2025 draft class.​

College football's biggest stars made leaps in their careers last month when they heard their names called at the 2024 NFL Draft. Meanwhile, those players' departures opened avenues to stardom for the replacements at their respective schools, and many of those up-and-coming standouts and returning weapons thrived in spring practices. Phenoms like the Colorado duo of Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are now a year out from headlining the NFL's next wave of rookies in 2025.

Preseason stars have a long road ahead of them in cementing their status as pro prospects, but the majority of college football's biggest names for the 2024 campaign will jockey for positioning on the draft board throughout the upcoming season. CBS Sports' Ryan Wilson offered a lookahead at which players could headline next year's class, with Ohio State, Georgia and other recruiting powerhouses leading the way in projected selections.

5. NEW YORK GIANTS: DE JT TUIMOLOAU, OHIO STATE​

JT Tuimoloau projected as a three-year player for Ohio State when he signed with the program as the nation's No. 1 overall recruit in the 2021 class. He is back for a fourth season, though, on the heels of his best campaign to date in which he logged 38 tackles, seven tackles for loss and five sacks. In order to reach the lofty heights that would both fulfill his expectations and make him an early first-round target, Tuimoloau must be more consistent in 2024. He could be the top edge rusher in this draft class.

8. MINNESOTA VIKINGS: DB DENZEL BURKE, OHIO STATE​

Ohio State has a longstanding tradition as one of college football's top cornerback factories, and Denzel Burke should be the next first-rounder to come through Columbus. He made a splash two years ago as a Freshman All-American and remained a formidable pass defender over his sophomore and junior campaigns, and as one of the many draft-eligible players returning for another season with the Buckeyes, Burke could close his college career with a bang and elevate his draft stock to new heights.

Just sayin': I'll say that Ohio State has an outside chance of 7 1st rounders with Treveyon Henderson, Seth McLaughlin, Will Howard, and/or (maybe) Sonny Styles.

Can definitely say his lifestyle is not to my taste, but when I read his philosophy on how to grab rebounds, using trigonometry, arcs, etc. he made me a believer. Wish I had been that astute, but no such luck. Made a science of it, and guess it worked out for him if he's being enshrined in the NBA Hall of Fame.
