BP Update —
We’re Close, But Not Stable Yet
First — thank you to everyone who helped keep the lights on. Because of you, we’ve made real progress.
We’ve officially raised enough upfront support to transition from
resurrecting BP to
sustaining it. That’s huge. What felt dire a short time ago now feels possible — and that’s because of this community.
BP has always been more than a site. It’s a collection of wildly different perspectives, personalities, and situations. Some of you post daily. Some of you lurk quietly. Some of you show up once in a while. Every single one of you matters here. This place works because of the mix.
Where We Stand
You responded with upfront support and that got us through the transition. Now the goal is stability.
Our ongoing cost is
$425/month, which covers hosting, infrastructure, and operations. Right now, we are not covered on recurring support. Without consistent monthly backing, we’ll be back in uncertainty fast.
While we are grateful for one time or annual gifts, monthly support is strongly preferred — it allows us to plan confidently across the year and handle surprises without scrambling.
The Ask
If you can give a little — you’re important.
If you can give a lot — you’re important.
If you can’t give right now — you’re still important.
We just ask that you do what you can. We haven’t set a monthly per person giving amount because we truly are a collection of wildly different perspectives, personalities, and situations.
We strive to create a virtual sports bar where members can debate, sometimes passionately, all things Buckeye, with plenty of space for interesting off-topic chat. We are a totally free site with no membership fees, but we do rely on crowdfunding to keep the lights on and the taps flowing. We don’t want anyone to feel pressure to come up with a monthly gift that may not comfortably fit their situation.
Conversely if some of you who are willing and able to give more than the perceived average (because no one knows how many will actually donate at this time) it will dramatically increase the long term stability of BP, not to mention giving you more of that all important and life changing vCash.
If enough of us commit to regular monthly contributions, the entire year becomes secure.
