Nobody knows at this point. Certainly something to keep an eye on especially how it pertains to one Gibbs, Jahmyr. What does that mean? He signed with UGa but they don't want him?
Sorry if I missed this in the previous posts but they were talking about Evans during the AA game. He did not play his last few HS games due to conflicts with his coaching staff.
Run away.
Kids make mistakes, but I prefer he do that learning somewhere else. One of them being the State Championship Game. Hopefully he has learned from his mistakes.
Again.....the guy just freelanced essentially at DE at times this year. I’ll give him major credit.....he’s a special athlete that can plug and play in a lot of areas. He seems like a unique “special teams” player to me, but also a guy who can add depth so certain positions. I think it helps him a lot that he played multiple positions at OSU.
Looks like Georgia will be releasing him from his LOI. A&M appears to be the current front-runner but nobody really knows. Wild stuff...
This is the general sentiment around Athens and on Dawg boards as well.
The timeline is vague, but here is a brief synopsis:
1). Evans declares that he'll announce his decision at the UA HS All Star game. Meanwhile, he's asked to leave the team during the Texas state final for refusing to surrender his cell phone.
2). Early signing period comes and he signs and submits his paperwork. The school honors his request to announce nothing.
3). Something "happens" - either during the period after ESD or new information comes out.
4). Georgia tells Evans they are reviewing the information. They advise him not to announce after the UA game. Evans issues a profound apology during an interview after the game.

5). Days go by with no updates. Crystal balls start turning to A&M.
A LOI binds a player to a school and not a school to a player. My guess is UGA found something and will release him quietly from his LOI so he can sign with another school. It must have really been something since we've taken flyers on young men with checkered pasts in years prior (with little blowback).
I'm shocked that Jimbo Fisher is willing to take a flyer on him given the tight ship he likes to run.
