YOUR 2016 Cleveland Indians Thread (American League CHAMPS!)

And they acquire Brandon Guyer from the Rays...... guy cant hit RHP (.196 in 148 AB) but is hitting .344 against LHP (68 AB). Almonte gone? Guyer can play all 3 OF spots. No top 30 prospects went in the trade so thats always nice.
Also,, probably means that Beltran will not be coming. I do not understand why they keep on playing Almonte since he is not eligible for postseason play. I would rather see Tyler get some bats against left-handed pitching.

Beltran is going to the Rangers.

Almonte SHOULD be gone now.....it would be puzzling to say the least if they kicked someone else from the Roster for Guyer instead of him

Sad to see big Juan gone. I hope this does not have a bad effect on Ramirez who most likely will see all the playing time at 3b. I do not know if Diaz will be brought up or not because what I have read he is pretty bad defensively at third. Maybe if they would not have done the deal with Tampa they might have brought him up. Maybe Gonzales will get some playing time at 3B against left-handers with Ramirez staying out in LF.

I guess we will see, Uribe was DFAd to make room for Miller. I'd expect Almonte to be DFAd within the next 24 hours once Guyer arrives. Maybe they put Ramirez at 3B full time and try to make a move for another OF before the deadline? (though theres only 30 minutes left) Juan was a good team guy but was pretty much becoming a giant liability at the plate and in the field.

I've honestly never even heard of Brandon Guyer...but in fairness, I've never heard of half of the Rays roster. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If Uribe's gone...thank God. He's had some nice moments this year, but he's been running on fumes for six weeks now, and is a major offensive black hole.

Rangers gave up the #4 overall pick in last years draft for Beltran.....Yankees have cleaned up on prospects this trade season. Glad we didn't fork out a top prospect for a 39 YO rental.

Here you go:)
Guyer, who has been with the Rays all season, has appeared in 63 games. He can play all three outfield positions and is hitting .344 (22-for-64) with four doubles, four homers, nine RBI and a 1.082 OPS against lefties.
The right-handed hitting Guyer, 30, leads the big leagues with 23 hit by pitches. He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2007 and was traded to the Rays, along with former Tribe draft pick Chris Archer, in January of 2011.
Guyer has played parts of five seasons with the Rays. He missed most of June this year with a strained left hamstring.

Sounds as though the Rangers may be getting Lucroy as well.

Well, I guess they took a hint since they're like 8 wins ahead of they're Pythagorean record, and some analytics project them under .500 the rest of the way... I'd have thought they'd be looking for pitching, but what do I know?
