YOUR 2016 Cleveland Indians Thread (American League CHAMPS!)

Naquin has been a Godsend. Not sure he can sustain anything near this long term, but he is raking. Their first round drafting the past couple of years has been night/day to the previois decade plus.

Well, its unfair to expect him to do this long term, but, really only the power part. That's either an abberation or he happens to be developing that in his rookie year. But, the swing he's got, he's gonna put the ball in play and he's gonna get hits. On the other hand, I had zero expectation Frankie was going to carry over from last year the way he has. (Not that he was gonna step back, he's obviously and unbelievable player but, it wouldn't have surprised or concerned me if he hit .275 this year, I mean instead he's all fucking planet, so I'll take it.)

Another possible part of Naquin's success is that despite all the flux in the OF, Tito has been able to keep him in his comfort zone, and he and Davis have complemented each other well, and Francona has somehow milked decent production out of a weakness.

Lucroy AND bullpen help coming back the Tribe's way?

Wonder what they're giving up to make that happen.

Lucroy is a rental+option. So, they're probably asking for something good. I don't see anyone on the roster being involved. I don't know how "ready" they're looking for, they'll be looking for long term control guys. To me if I'm them, even a guy like Clevinger might be a little too ready. But, if they want some Shortstops, fine take 'em I don't care. we don't need them.

I read a few days ago that the Yankees sent 2 scouts to look at one of the Indians top pitchers in their minor league system. I think he played in A but not sure. If they would trade someone like that, it would not bother me because you never know how those guys are going to turn out at the major-league level. I would like to get one of the relief pitchers from the Yankees rather than the Brewers.

I could see the Indians giving up one of our top minor-league outfielders and something else to get Lucroy. Maybe they would take one of our catchers:wink:

Yeah, close to Big league pitching, I can see, the way this contention window sets up, I can see them protecting A level guys more than AAA guys. I mean who knows, but, Zimmer or Frazier are gonna be hard to pry loose, they've spent a lot of time and effort on the Outfield, and well, I'd say, if the Brewers want one of those guys, they better solve all the Tribe's problems. Or at any rate, throw in a plus bull pen arm- Will Smith looks awfully useful. (and we can throw in some PTBN's I guess).

That was a double decker turd salad with ass sauce. Cody Allen has said he will give up the closers job, but every time he pitches in a non-save situation, he's worse than Cat in a Tin ShitHouse. They need to add something or Texas and Baltimore will work them awful.
