According to what...?

Just a feeling. I probably should have said "at least a one year bowl ban." This has been an extended pissing match and I don't think the NCAA ends it without some sort of statement. When you factor in the FTM, the repeat offender status, the fact that additional violations occured during a sort of post mortem evaluation, it's not going to end well for the Bucks imo.

I will consider it a victory of sorts if the bowl ban is 1 year, especially if it's this year.

Now with no chance at BTCG, I think it would be prudent to just self impose a 1 year bowl ban for this year. Then hopefully we can get past this, and recruiting and other business can go on as it should. After what happened today, a bowl ban next year would really just ruin the lives of many players who were never involved for multiple years, plus will be so destructive to the program as a whole.

We can not afford a bowl ban next year...self impose it this year!

Agree, with today's loss, I think Smith needs to impose the bowl ban for this season. Even if it's more than the NCAA would have handed down in the end, it gets things done and out of the way, hopefully.

Do you think the NCAA would except that? I would think that the NCAA would want to tear us down for next year because our team isn't that good this season.

I think to them a bowl ban is more about money lost to the University. NCAA doesn't really use it to keep teams from winning conferences. I dunno, it would have to be done this week...but probably would have been better to do it all at once. Since we already did the scholarship reductions, it may not make sense.

Yep. Been saying that for a while now. I'd rather just be done with this God forsaken season and regroup next season, which shows a lot of promise. Banning next season would be horrific.

Even though this team needs the bowl practice, I also would rather see any ban this season rather than next.

But if no bowl ban, and a new head coach is the decision, it may be a decision to allow Luke to coach bowl practice or the new coach.

yeah bowl ban now after we lose that wouldnt be bad PR

"yeah we now realize we are going no where so we will take a bowl ban"

-Gene Smith

If anything, it'll make Gene Smith look worse than he already has looked and we can see him off as well. Win-Win if you ask me.
