I suspect my father may have had a 14" slab of meat dangling between his legs.

But that don't make him a pornstar.

I don't remember that the press went after Carroll with the gleeful vindictiveness that has been directed at Tressel.

But I didn't follow that one as close as I've followed this one, so I could be wrong.

Part of it is LA, as well... the media here has something else to do, and sports in general are just one more thing that we might pay attention to.

I agree. Pete Carroll was the media's wet dream. They still went after USC when USC's actions gave them something to look into.

But yeah... what ever happened to Joe McKnight's Range Rover?

There's people here that want to see a lynching over Cam Newton, but there wasn't enough evidence to drop the guillotine.Irony

you mean, besides the evidence that school considered "enough" to suspend him, before the NCAA came in and overruled them?

You mean, besides the fact that the only defense was "plausible deniability?"

The facts were clear, the NCAA just decided to protect its golden boy by using some lame defense that everyone in the country knows to be false. Its why every single Auburn fan I know enjoyed the game and said, "Well, at least we won. Who cares that it going to be vacated in a couple years."

EDIT: Misspell...

Why wouldn't they? They've been beaten senseless and forced to live in an outhouse for years.

Because sometimes it's more a case of relief because you know that they'd find the same thing going on at your school if they started poking around and you know the only difference between them and you here is that they got caught and you didn't.

If you went around to the big time D1 football and basketball schools and asked fans "Do you think the players have traded gear or memorabilia for favors?" how many do you think would honestly reply "I don't think so."?

I don't follow Chicago media, but has that Chicago blogger from around Christmas came out and crowed regarding the recent situation?

I guess in the long-term he was right, although that was announced on Christmas day (or so). But it's like saying JoePa will retire.
